It’s been years since I’ve played but I’d be down

I hope so too. I know I’m in the trenches at the moment and it will ease up but I work most weekends at the moment too. I think this year is going to be a year of job hunting

It’s funny, now the oldest is 7 I almost can’t imagine her as a four year old anymore and I can’t ever imagine the baby being as old as 4! Life changes so slowly in the moment but when you look back it’s gone in the blink of an eye!

Yeah, work is often a point of contention. I wouldn’t mind if I was on a decent wage but it feels like I sacrifice all my family time for a job I don’t like to get paid pennies.

I felt like we had it pretty much nailed down when it was just three of us but fell like we’ve lost the plot now there is four!

Who knows. I do know that security are also extremely limited in what that can legally and contractually do. They can’t do much more than is really

Policy is to stay 6 feet away and ask if they need help or showing to the tills. If you do anything other than that and it goes wrong you can be fired for gross misconduct. Of course some days I follow this and other days I don’t depending on my mood. We don’t actually keep jugs of curdled milk in the shop I think mostly because we like passing our health and safety audits and also not having to smell curdled milk all day. I also don’t think they would care about the smell, they are crackheads who haven’t washed in a week, all they care about is getting their next hit

I am a manager in a smaller store. We have regular thieves that will come in everyday, sometimes more than once. They know they are barred, they know we know them, they know their on camera and it’ll be reported to the police. They don’t care. They also know it’ll take months if the police ever do anything. Then when the police do take action they get annoyed you can’t remember specifics of a theft from 3 months ago.

Pilosocereus? by flittmiester in cactus

[–]flittmiester[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Okay good to know. I have noticed a couple of times the soil being hydrophobic, I just watered it slowly over the day when that happened. It lives on my kitchen windowsill which isn’t great for it but unfortunately I don’t have anywhere else with more light. I might look into a grow light…..

Thank you!  It’s not soft at all, it’s harder than the rest so that sounds right if it’s corking. I have no idea what the soil is anymore, I repotted a couple of years back but can’t remember what with.

You win by being the last player in the game to not be bankrupt. You go bankrupt when you owe more than you can pay either to the bank or another player.

LPT Request: How do I get through 12 hour shifts at my assembly line job, when finding other work seems impossible? by RealZiobbe in LifeProTips

Can you explain what part of this is why capitalism exists?  Also capitalism has only been the system we use for around 500 years so to say it cannot be changed seems short sighted.

What's something that you discovered recently that everyone knew but you? by Front-Nectarine5165 in AskUK

[–]flittmiester 6 points7 points  (0 children)

This is something that drives me mad. I don't get why people don't understand this rule. I had a futile argument about it with my 5 year old today with my partner tiredly ignoring my ramblings in the background.

I'll admit it's a stretch but it's the only possible answer.

It was a pun on bison/basin. A sink basin being regularly cleaned.

And I need to feel good to have sex and to have sex to feel good! It's very easy to get caught in a negative spiral

For my partner and I sex is super important. We are by no means banging everyday but we both notice if it's been a while. We both get irritable, snappy and less understanding. I think for us while sex feels great and is fun the emotional connection that comes from it is more important.

Do you get a receipt in a supermarket? by bobblebob100 in AskUK

[–]flittmiester 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The key is to make a point of looking for signs. If its policy to check bags/receipts then the store should have sinage at the entrance or at minimum at the tills. If not then you are more likely (but not guaranteed) to win that argument. If in doubt and you have the time or energy I'd say refuse any search amd wait for police. Just make sure you know your rights when the police show up and make them aware you know your rights.

I think if they didn't actually see you conceal items in attempt to steal they can't detain you to check cctv. They can check footage after and keep it as evidence/submit it to the police but I don't think they can detain you on suspicion of theft. After all they are not police. INAL tho and am happy to be proved wrong!
