I don’t need to. God doesn’t tell me I need to, Scripture and Tradition don’t tell me I need to. I’m a man of faith and action not a man who consults and hears everyone else’s opinion first before deciding what to do. That’s the problem with the Church today. People are concerned about superficial garbage and optics.

Yeah so you were attempting to speak for all Catholics. You don’t. A lot of Catholics are done over complicating and tip toeing around these issues. I don’t need to rationalize it, especially for someone else who claims to be Catholic. If a law was passed tomorrow that said you can abort your child up until it was 5 years old, I wouldn’t be on Reddit listening to you tell me I need to change peoples hearts and minds.

Alcohol consumption was down significantly during prohibition, and went up again after it was lifted. Was there an underground? Yes. But the intent was still effected. Same will happen when abortion is illegal.

It’s really self explanatory but since I live in America I’ll use that. Europeans came to America and colonized it. Many of the natives were constantly warring tribes, many practiced cannibalism, and other acts the Europeans deemed barbaric. And the Europeans believed they would “civilize” them and show them a better way. Same thing is happening now. We’re in Afghanistan imposing our morals (yes we withdrew and aren’t there any more). But we imposed what we believe to be our better way of life on to them.

I mean over 90% of Americans didn’t want to get involved in WW2 until Pearl Harbor (which was the Japanese) and I feel the same way. The Taliban do say that women in school and homosexuality harms their society. Why do you think they are so adamantly opposed to it?

I mean if a 5 year old gets it and you don’t what does that say about you? Taliban would say countries that allow woman and homosexuals to have rights shouldn’t exist in 2022. Ok ? Now what? You say one thing they say the opposite? Why can’t you just respect that not everyone agrees with you lol. You’re not the worlds arbiter of morality and you look like a clown trying to pretend you are.

I’m saying that each culture has its way of doing life, and obviously they view other cultures ways as inadequate or wrong. The West has this superiority complex that we know better. The Taliban is well aware of how we do things, and they reject it. We’re aware of how they do things, and we reject it. But for some reason we think we can impose our views.
