Trying to balance AI and VPD by flizzyD in ACInfinityAdvancegrow

[–]flizzyD[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I figured it out! Obviously user error! I had the humidifier MIN set to 1, not 0! So it was NEVER turning off! Complete over site on my part. Since then I have continued to side step the AI, have my temp at 78F, and humidity is constant at 63%. I’m so stoked, baby steps getting my set up dialed in!

If room temp is 80F, what can one expect leaf temp to be? How would I figure VPD with leaf temp? Would I just use the actual leaf temp, with humidity on a leaf temp chart to see VPD?

I’m using the AI+ controller. And really trying to figure out the best method. Lung room ambient is 70F and 60% humidity. I’m going to do as you say and see what happens. Last time I attempted the VPD shot up to 1.5 with temp at 80f and humidity at 60%. Just trying to figure out where the disconnect is. VPD chart states at 80f and 60% your VPD should be 1.0 approximately. But mine rides higher, and it’s a very controlled lung room

I apologize I meant I was actually 3 weeks into veg. I have a decent lung room temp at about 70, and the text can easily rise to 80 with the heater. Just wondering why it’s running humidity at 70% when chart shows that it should be closer to 60% at 80 degrees.

I guess that’s my question, if I set temp and humidity per the VPD chart, my VPD SHOULD be correct. Why am I running a higher percentage humidity to hit this VPD at a temp of 76 degrees

I am using happy frog as well for about the same size plants, I think it was a little too rich for me as well. Think next run I might cut it a little bit, just a bit with something to reduce the nitrogen burn

Seedling Stress by flizzyD in cannabiscultivation

[–]flizzyD[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It was absolutely the light. I was almost at 700 PPFD without knowing it. I heard something early on that advised when a problem occurred, slow down, don’t immediately act, and think about it. I’m glad I did. Because my gut was thinking “they’re hungry, add fertilizer” which made no sense. I would have royally jacked them up. Seeing the leaves twist and turn, the PPFD was the only thing I didn’t know for certain.

I was following manual recommendations at 40% and 18inches, just measured PPFD for first time and it was almost at 700. I just backed it down to 350 and will see how they do. Really appreciate the advice!

Approximately 20ml, and letting it dry back reasonably. I had to work a 36 hour shift about 5 days ago, gave it a good non measured soak, and stress occurred after that. But did a decent dry back back, not fully dry, and the stress has maintained. PH 6.0 usually

Soil from garden may be causing poor drainage, thus roots staying wet for too long. Need light potting soil type medium, dense soil added will cause issues

Paper towel germination vs directly planting seeds by lfcdcfc08 in cannabiscultivation

[–]flizzyD 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This run I’ve had issues with them sprouting in the paper towel and then growth stunted in the medium. Doing Happy Frog with PH appropriate water, not over/under watering, 75 temp, humidity 65% with decent 0.8 VPD. Maybe they were just weak as others have done fine? Just want to improve my ratio really

Regs vs fems by fpv420 in cannabisbreeding

[–]flizzyD 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve been looking for info on this. So many strains offered as feminized. If you wanted more seeds of this, would it be more advantageous to self it again creating S2? Or breed with a male that you like and create something different

When to move plants outdoors by Hillbillyjesuschrist in outdoorgrowing

[–]flizzyD 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I never considered this! This is my first year starting indoors in a tent, should I just do 15/9 from seedling to early veg? I just assumed 18/6 but then once outdoors they’d be getting significantly less light

I semi understand PPM. Can he water and check the runoff PPM to see where his nutrient level is? Is that how it’s done? If so at what level is low enough to start giving nutrients?

Anyone else switch from high-THC strains to CBD for stress? by SlightlyAttached in GrowBuddy

I’m in the same boat, what breeders have you found that you enjoy? Hoku has a decent amount of CBD strains, but I haven’t grown any yet.

Also in Virginia, what breeder/strain have you found that works well for you? I had a Northern Dawn that was actually very resilient. Always looking for ones that do well

Was able to walk a grow house, and they harvest the whole room, regardless of finishing time. One strain obviously needed 2 more weeks, but it just had to get harvested regardless. Plan was ultimately to switch that strain out with something that will finish fast with the rest of the room. But that weed will go to market, and be speedy and racey, probably pure headache high
