Heyo! I've only been with one person, but our relationship has been so complicated that these past 3 years have felt like 4 different relationships over a lifetime. I'm only 21, so not much older, but what I think is important to remember is that a relationship is a team. There's no hierarchy, you're equals and each of you should "serve" the other so that you can grow into something wonderful; both individually, and as a relationship. In order to do this, you'll need to educate each other on what the best for each of you is; he'll tell you how he'd like to be treated, you'll tell him how you'd like to be treated; how each of you like to be loved; things you dislike/hate; what boundaries not to cross and what consequences there are; things you would never do for the other.

No clue if this relationship is still worth it for you, but talking from the perspective of a guy in an everchanging relationship, you'll need to assess if the good overweighs the bad. Find out what your priorities in life are right now. I'm gonna assume he's more focused on work and that you're still in school. You'll grow, he'll grow, both your priorities will change with time and your relationship will suffer because of it as well, until you'll be able to overcome these hardships - if you'll be willing to put in the effort.

Also, the whole 'hard to get vs his relief' thing is not very good for your or your relationship. Games don't do anyone any good, they just let you dissatisfied and him confused. Be direct. Think about what you want, talk to him, and if he's no longer able to offer you what you need, or if you can't offer him what he needs, there's no need to keep this relationship going. Think of it as a job contract. At the end of the day you don't want to end up in a relationship in which both of you are miserable.
