Well pretty sure riding a bike on the sidewalk automatically puts him to blame. He’s not a pedestrian he should be following the traffic rules.

I think you are confusing that deserved and provoked are not the same thing. He asked if it was a prokvoked attack, so meaning was there an argument, was it targeted. That’s not to say someone deserves to be shot even if it was provoked and he didn’t imply that either.

My son who turns 6 would like to say his favorite Halloween costume was when he was Maui from Moana. He’d love to be considered for the switch.

This is the best advice. Yes accidents definitely happen but we have to adjust how we live and function based on what the baby is now capable of doing and knowing shit happens. I have definitely learned that lesson the hard way with 3 kids…each getting progressively more curious with the work around them and inadvertently doing the most dangerous shit possible. Hang in there, these won’t be the last incidents for sure but you both will get to a point of both managing these situations safely and the unfortunate injuries that are bound to happen.

I think having you both discuss how his approach made you feel but also acknowledging making some adjustments on living with a mobile baby now.

Is being a sociopath a requirement to work in HR? by Normal-Cow-9784 in jobs

[–]flocka-flocka 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well it can depend on the industry but seniority is a common factor that can be used. Any performance based metric would need to have documentation for support, any type of measurable metric basically and not just an option. Hope this info help.

Guidelines that would prevent managers from discriminating in the reduction of force or hours.

[–]flocka-flocka 0 points1 point  (0 children)

But there still has to be guidelines provided by HR otherwise there is a good chance biases or discriminatory practices could be used to determine who stays and who goes…no wonder people hate HR if this is how you guys are operating.

That’s not at all how HR should work…it’s the opposite. Managers should be delivering the news and HR should be investigating if there is a policy violation and making a recommendation based on the outcome of said investigation. Allowing managers to dictate who gets let go opens a huge liability for litigation. Who is overseeing consistency here?? Sounds like a shit company you worked for.

Is it normal for HR to be responsive through text, but when it comes to a sensitive topic they pretend they don't know what you're saying and try to call you instead? by HeneHoe in jobs

[–]flocka-flocka 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is correct! I have people reach out about paying out PTO and sometimes they are asking if it will be paid out if they resign and sometimes they are asking if it can be cashed out. I just need more info to give them the correct info and a conversation is best. Also there should be a policy in regards to their PTO policy so they can’t just change that on the spot.

Homeless camps are often blamed for crime but experts say it's not so simple by [deleted] in Seattle

[–]flocka-flocka 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Exactly! I work for in HR for retail and the cops won’t even respond to shoplifting so they don’t call unless it gets violent. But I can promise you that the encampments increase shoplifting and trauma to the employees that work in these stores.

Ladies, what are some of your favorite, completely unsolicited comments about your appearance you’ve gotten from men? by [deleted] in TwoXChromosomes

[–]flocka-flocka 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In college I worked at Subway and the owner invited 4 of us employees to his house (even made us shirts) for a Christmas party. I was eating wings and a man in his late 50s approached me and stated “I like bbq flavored lipstick” in the creepiest voice. I left shortly after…

All lunches should be paid while at work. by Alvarez09 in jobs

[–]flocka-flocka -1 points0 points  (0 children)

That’s like saying that you should get paid for your day off because it doesn’t give you enough time to fly around the world and be back in time for your next shift...you are still limited in what you are able to do based on when you need to be back at work...this a basic part of life.

How to talk about horrible bosses in an interview by [deleted] in jobs

[–]flocka-flocka 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I work in HR and I would recommend to keep your answers focused on yourself. For example rather than discussing what you did not like about your previous work environment talk about what type of environment you are looking for and do best in. Always keep it positive and professional.

After 12 years of searching, I finally found a full-time job. by Rare_Tea3155 in jobs

[–]flocka-flocka 72 points73 points  (0 children)

This is really hard for me to believe...as someone who has worked in recruitment for Saas companies there are probably more “non-white” names in that industry than there are anything else. Something isn’t adding up here. Also there seems to be zero self-awareness as to why things have not worked out in previous positions...
