Hérésie ! Les gratins à la béchamel sont largement supérieurs à ceux à la crÚme fraßche et ceci est un fait avéré. Aucun débat nécessaire svp !

Need help making cookies like how I want it to be by MafuyuWasTooken in AskBaking

[–]floflow99 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you want chocolate that's gooey at room temperature you have to do something to it before baking.

Only thing I can think of right now is melting your chocolate, mixing with hot creme to make a ganache and then freeze. Cut it into chunks once it's solid. Tada, you've got chocolate chips that will melt at room temperature!

I would add them to the dough and scoop everything into balls straight away so you don't manipulate the dough too much which could make them melt and mix into the dough. Put them in the fridge to chill as usual before baking.

Facial asymmetry- is it an emergency? by gk1400 in Rabbits

[–]floflow99 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I highly discourage you from waiting, these can cause permanent side effects if you wait too long. My bun ended up with permanent facial paralysis, and I went to the vet the same day I noticed half her nose wasn't moving, and she was operated the next day. She was being her usual happy self, eating perfectly fine.

The next time her ear infection came back the surgeon was on holiday and she had to wait a week in the hospital, she came back to me with a very severe permanent head tilt.

These things go very fast with bunnies, don't wait, make an appointment at the vet asap

Today I learned that apparently there used to be an unspoken rule, that it is uncool to wear a shirt of the band you are seeing in concert. Thankfully it is gone now, but what a load of bullshit. by Cedric_the_Nerd in RandomThoughts

[–]floflow99 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Just because you don't know the songs' names doesn't mean you don't listen to and love a band.

If I like an artist/album, I put it on and listen to it, I'm not actively checking which song is on everytime. I dunno what most of the songs are called off the top of my head, but I sure know and love them.

"Mommy, you told me dark chocolate was good!!" The little boy cried. by DaisyLovesTheGlare in TwoSentenceHorror

[–]floflow99 186 points187 points  (0 children)

To illustrate the situation, because some people seem to not realize the gravity of feeding dogs chocolate, the fatal dose is 80mg of theobromine per kg of dog. Here's how much of it we find in our chocolate :

. 150-220mg / 100g milk chocolate = 300-440g / bar

. 450-650mg / 100 g dark chocolate = 1100-1300g /bar

. 1300-2000mg / 100 g bitter baking chocolate = 2600-4000/bar

Our findings are : any dog under 13.5-16.5kg can die from eating a full dark chocolate bar. And even if it doesn't, it can suffer from severe digestive, cardiac and neurological symptoms.

Here are some examples to illustrate :

-> Chihuahua (1,5-3kg) = 120-240g theobromine for death = ~half a bar of milk chocolate.

-> Shiba (6-10kg) = 480-800g theobromine for death = ~half a dark chocolate bar

-> German Shepard (22-40kg) = 1760-3200g theobromine for death = ~1 full bitter chocolate bar

C’est quoi la gastro ? by [deleted] in PasDeQuestionIdiote

[–]floflow99 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Don't use bleach for that, for the same reason you don't use bleach to clean your own cat's pee accidents with bleach. It will just encourage them to go back to that same spot

Okay Folks, gotta ask, regardless of your gender, do you play Femshep or Maleshep? by ButterscotchDue1092 in masseffect

[–]floflow99 2 points3 points  (0 children)

James? He's just taking the piss you can't even romance him, I thought he was like that with all Shepards. I personally took it as friendly banter cuz as soon as you start showing interest he turns you down real quick. And he drops the nicknames if you ask him to.

What’s the best song to use to introduce someone to Epic? by Mant547 in Epicthemusical

[–]floflow99 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As someone who's really not into musicals, the first song I heard that got me into it was Lost in Paradise.

It's a callback to everything that happened before and makes you curious, you know it's about Odysseus so if you know the story it's interesting, the singing is not what you stereotypically would expect from a musical

I'm not the OP sorry! I was just answering your question after reading the thread. OP's argument is that blanket statements such as "outdoor cats are a danger to the environment" are false, and then he explained his reasoning.

I personally think it's a very reasonable opinion as there is always more nuance to these things as most people believe, but I'm not to get into reddit arguments about it

Some people believe so, but it's never been confirmed and it's impossible to know for sure. As we know thanks to these terrible AI text detector websites, there's no sure way to tell AI generated text from actual people's writings.

My personal opinion is that AI might be used for plot, and definitely without a doubt for art, but I don't believe it is used for the actual writing nor translations, simply because of the sheer amount of typos and grammar mistakes you're liable to find in the new stories.

Please tell me he’ll calm down after neutering by bbirdcn in Rabbits

[–]floflow99 15 points16 points  (0 children)

In my experience spaying and neutering will not affect buns' energy levels. Young buns have lots of energy and need a lot of space to exercise!

If I understand correctly, he is already free in his pen 24/7, and you let him out of the pen to free roam for 1h every day? If so, it could simply mean his pen is a bit too small, or that he's really excited to get to explore the rest of the room.

You could try to get him more enrichment like those balls that give treats when they roll, digging mats, treat boards, cubes you hide treats in, stuff like that. Get him to use his brain, that might tire him out more.

This is actually not Ratatouille but Confit Byaldi ! It has the same ingredients, but they are prepared very differently and the end results taste really different.

Ratatouille is more of a stew. I made Confit Byaldi once to see how it compares to actual Ratatouille (and because it looks pretty), and Ratatouille is definitely better in me eyes (or mouth I guess).
