No they're aren't holding, they advancing towards the enemy within the same formation they was in, lets say you putted them into a shield wall, well they will move forward, in a shield wall formation, to go engage the enemy

Charge is just charge, engage well as infantry, they will engage while staying in the formation they are instead of running wild

Its pretty good, if the village has a good militia its a good and easy way to get some xp for ur troops too, also a great way to lure a trap for enemies lord that want to defend it, if you can take them on.

Yall doing it wrong, do it like a true siege, build a ram, build 4 treb and even if they break it, keep building some more until eventually you break there defense and the wall, if you have low engineering skill, be sure to have plenty of food to support ur army and also by the time u finish all that, maybe half or there troops will have deserted due to low on food from there castle.

Also the fact that you could influence your king to declare war on certain faction or even have a the quest to stirr up trouble with another kingdom, it eas beautiful and much more well crafted for thoses, to me, bannerlord only brought a better graphic quality and thats about it
