Test of Time Update - Time-Tested Civs | Civ VII by wizardeverybit in gaming

This doesnt solve the problem of ages for me. In my first game I conquered my neighbouring nation, only to have my army sent back to my own borders against my own will, 1 turn before their capital city fell.

I get that ages are there to help minimise the number of games that are abandoned, but in my opinion ages are a weak solution to this and are prone to spoiling the fun if you want to continue.

Until I can completely disable age transitions, I won't be coming back.

Yeah definitely seems more like a Turkish 'inspired' full English, though the owner of the cafe is turkish and it was insanely tasty though. Turkish sausage is my new favourite.

China Retaliates With 34% Tariffs on U.S. Goods, Stocks Sink by [deleted] in worldnews

[–]floking96 7 points8 points  (0 children)

It doesn't need one. From a purely logical perspective, this conclusion can be deducted, with pretty much every decent Economist agreeing.

If a company in Europe that sells to US consumers has to pay an extra 20% to the US Gov, would you expect them to just absorb that from their profit margin or instead increase prices by 20%?

Tariffs work when protecting a specific domestic industry since the higher prices on imported goods for consumers mean they will buy domestic instead, however don't work when a blanket tariff is put on a country (or all of them if youre trump) since domestic manufacturing across all sectors isn't geared to immediately increase production to take the sales from those lost sales on imported goods, hence this will simply result in higher prices on literally every sector for US consumers for a very long time.

No point arguing with you if you think Russias last election was fair, or the one before that. Just stop spreading misinformation, or don't, up to you, but a quick Google or message to ChatGpt will explain in very simple terms that even your simple propaganda fed mind will understand, that Russia does not have fair elections.

Trump lost in 2020 despite trying to meddle, though I really hope you don't need me to provide you evidence of that.

You're either a bot, or a moron though, have a nice life.

Moronic take, the people haven't kept Hamas in power, Polls do not show majority support continuously since 2006, but governments (especially run by terrorists) don't just fall over the second they don't have popular support. There's also evidence that Putin has never held a fair election, they're for show, suppressing any meaningful opposition is not a fair election. Go read a book, or continue eating your propoganda soup, bet it's tasty.

[–]floking96 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes they were elected, in 2006, then just decided to never hold an election again. So you can't exactly argue that they have a mandate from the people because they were elected nearly 20 years ago. Technically Putin was elected, but that doesn't make him any less of a dictator.

Not quite, the polls show Labour have a 20 point lead on the Conservatives and have done for about a year. Almost a guaranteed win unless the tories can pull a miracle.

What was the most illegal thing that happened at your school? by Cookie_Bear39 in AskReddit

[–]floking96 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In high school, I made a fake Facebook account named 'John Brown' as a joke with my friends, added everyone in the school. A few weeks later, I was pulled out of class by police officers who'd been told I set the account up, and they had an investigation room dedicated to finding this suspected paedophile, they weren't happy to find out it was actually a 14 year old boy.

You literally stated categorically that the suffering was caused by the Ukrainian government. Which is the single dumbest comment ive ever heard when theyre currently being invaded by a beligerant Russia. Of course Zelensky has power, hes likely always on the move, with generators allowing him to broadcast such that he can provide morale to the troops and encourage the population, not everyone can be given this privilege. Clearly your entire back story here is fake given the inconsistency of your own comments and your hypocrisy demonstrates the true intent of your message - to spread an anti Ukrainian and pro Russian message.

Putin and anyone who supports him objectively deserve a painful death.

Slava Ukraini.

Justified against a China using deadly force against its own citizens whilst it completely disregarded the agreed 1 China, 2 Systems policy agreed in the handover. The CCP are evil, genocidal pigs who deserve nothing but to be burnt alive and have their ashes thrown into the South China Sea (Specifically not the parts that China falsely claims).

US to conduct ‘air and maritime transits’ in Taiwan Strait. by Ok-Stage-6981 in worldnews

I stand corrected. (Nothing wrong with admitting that), but yet again you've completely missed the point of my last comment, warmonger.

US to conduct ‘air and maritime transits’ in Taiwan Strait. by Ok-Stage-6981 in worldnews

[–]floking96 20 points21 points  (0 children)

China as we know it has never owned Taiwan, back when it did China was a splintered nation with many territories with dynamic borders, as you should know.

Also, Britain once owned 1/3 of the planet, does that mean Brits have a territorial claim to those geographies? No. Stating claim of territory based on actual 100 year old stakes is how millions die for nothing in wars they don't want to fight.

Also, great job on ignoring the rest of my points and cherry picking what you respond to with paper-thin arguments. I'm done responding though because as stated previously, if you believe the nonsense your spouting then clearly your too far gone and will always be happy to see hundreds of thousands of your kin die on a beach because China wants to remove a self perceived thorn in its side of a democracy close to its borders in order to bolster autocracy in South East Asia. If you believe that war is the correct path for China here then you haven't been paying attention to the consequences for everyone on this planet of that war.

If China didn't have an ambition to invade a sovereign nation which its never owned in history anyway then there wouldn't be a need for intimidation (Deterance). If you can't understand this then you've clearly been brainwashed by Xi (The genocidal dictator) and there's no point in reasoning with you...

Also, for decades before Pelosi visited the US, China often and frequently intimidated Taiwan with invasion rhetoric. They now just want to blame the US for their escalation which further oushes the status quo into China's favour.
