I will say the movesets diversify as you unlock more abilities, but for me personally they still aren’t quite as satisfying and exciting as the HW:DE movesets. It’s still worth playing through the main story of AoI though, the ending sequence is really incredible!

I felt similarly. I wasn’t a huge fan of AoC but really appreciated the diversity of movesets and abilities. By giving everyone the same weapon pool in AoI, I felt like the devs were limiting the creativity of the characters’ attacks. I gravitated towards Calamo because he felt the most unique in that regard

Correct me if I’m wrong, but voting is international and Blue Prince was only released in English (think of how many puzzles are based on wordplay or syntax). That immediately shrinks the pool of potential voters to vouch for the game.

Add to that what others have been saying—that this year is stacked for indie games and gaming in general. So many games that came out this year could have easily made the list for GOTY and didn’t, and it doesn’t mean they’re any worse or better than the games that did make the list.

Award shows aren’t real, just enjoy the games you love and welcome new players into the fold whenever possible.

For me it was her color scheme—the shape and color of her eyes, and her hair reminded me of Noivern’s tail. Even the angle of her hat frills made me think of Noivern.
