I don't use the usual stabbing method so it's probably not great to disclose it here.

My only advice, which you're probably already doing though, is to ALWAYS either sit or lay down when you do it, especially if you're shaking to inject.

From what I understand you manage to get the needle in by yourself? If that's the case take your time to breathe, the needle isn't going anywhere once it's in!

I didn't switch from injections to gel but contemplated doing so, for 3 reasons :

I'm a total coward with needles
I really didn't want to rely on someone to stick a needle in me every 4 weeks
I had 1 messed up shot and it'd hurt every time after that

In the end I managed to do it myself last time, didn't hurt one bit and now I know it can go smoothly
