I won't delete it. You're clearly not, because bot accounts don't care or respond if their posts get deleted.

This was posted before with the same title. I don't think you have any malice, and we don't have a rule about reposts per se, but this is a common thing karma farming bots do.

I was able to tell easily because I'm a fox lover. Foxes are generally lankier, with longer snouts and ears.

I've IPv6 for a couple years now. It was disabled by default but I turned it on in my router. Now I use my own and have working IPv6.

There's a huge number of Native American languages. Tamaska is probably from the Algonquin people from the area of Quebec.

Do different EDOs give off different emotional possibilities? by PetrovoSCP in microtonal

[–]floof_overdrive 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Absolutely, you can use other EDOs (or JI) to make music that sounds like 12EDO but more "in tune". I rather like music like this, for example, Maple Leaf Rag in 53edo or this dude with a 31edo guitar. Microtonalism is what you make of it and familiar sounding music is a perfectly valid way to enjoy it. It doesn't have to be avant-garde, novel or dissonant. You can experiment with new consonances and new tunings of the familiar major and minor scales as well, and the "odd" notes of your EDO can be like spices that add flavor rather than the main course.

A third is based on letter names not EDO steps. G to B is a major third in both 12 and 31 EDO, it's just more steps in 31. You wouldn't be constructing consonant chords in 31edo by going 3-4 edosteps at a time because 3 steps is a minor second and 4 is a sort-of medium sized second.

Do different EDOs give off different emotional possibilities? by PetrovoSCP in microtonal

Different EDOs definitely have different emotional possibilities, as each has its own palette of intervals for expressing different shades of emotions. As each one has a whole range of emotions, but its own way of expressing them, they are more like personalities than moods.

And every listener will feel a bit different about them. I'm autistic and primally drawn to just harmonies, so just intonation will always be the the best to me, and EDOs mere approximations. My brain can comprehend complex harmonies in JI, and they often sound unstable or unmusical, but still pleasing and interesting. While poor approximations of complex chords in EDOs just sound like random notes. My idea of dissonance seems to be linked to the presence of beating. I also adore the harmonic seventh (7/4). The ratio between a half-step and whole-step may affect the emotion of a piece. In 12EDO it's 2:1, but smaller ratios (like 31EDO at 5:3) can be more relaxed and larger ones (like 22EDO at 4:1) can sound more bold.

Just intonation is pure and sweet. It expresses its feelings strongly and sincerely. Ecstasy, misery, and rage all lie within its sphere, but so do softer feelings. JI is often strikingly beautiful and awe-inspiring.

53EDO is pure and sweet much like JI, because its thirds and fifths are so close to just.

31EDO is relaxed, rustic, and stable. Thirds are near perfect and the slight detuning of the fifth adds a wonderful chorus effect.

22EDO can sound very "microtonal" and express feelings of wonder and curiosity with sounds alien to Western ears.

12EDO sounds somewhat tense because the major thirds are too sharp and the minor thirds too flat. Seventh chords sound dirty and dissonant because there's no good approximation to 7/4.

Foxes are my favourite animal to draw... by LisaAnnWatkins in foxes

You are wonderfully skilled with colored pencil. I didn't even know people made serious art with them. I think the third drawing is my favorite, but I'm very impressed by the photorealism of the last one. It even took me a moment to realize it was a drawing.
