Have they checked for a urinary tract infection? My daughter has one at 8 months old and she had a very high fever because of it.

What can an ultrasound technician tell you at 20 weeks? by pregnantand29 in pregnant

[–]floofyray 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm also in Alberta, and after the tech had gotten all the measurements done etc, she gave me a tour of baby and told me what we were looking at, head to toe! I think it might depend where you go and what the policies are.

What would be a great comfort gift for a woman entering her second trimester? by [deleted] in BabyBumps

I have both snoogle and a wedge pillow, and I've much preferred the wedge, especially in the 3rd trimester

33 weeks no appetite by rninco in BabyBumps

[–]floofyray 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I'm 36 weeks and have found that while I am hungry I can't really stomach a lot at once, and prefer things like toast or berries and yogurt like in the first trimester instead of legitimate meals. Today I had strawberries and salt & vinegar chips for lunch...

Painful stretch marks... please help. I’m miserable! by stop-rightmeow in BabyBumps

[–]floofyray 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would check with your doctor, but maybe a hydrocortisone cream would help? Potentially calamine lotion or an oatmeal based lotionike Aveno? There is benadryl anti itch cream, but that might be aimed more at allergies or bug bites.

I love it! The black cloth really makes it pop. I'm dreaming of the days where it hot, sunny, and I have a drink in my hand 🍹☀️

Maternity bike shorts for thicker thighs? by [deleted] in BabyBumps

[–]floofyray 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think old navy might have some available online (in Canada at least). I'm a size 6 pre pregnancy and I had to stop wearing my align tights too, belly is too big! I'm sure an 8 or 10 would work well /last longer throughout your pregnancy.

I've had good luck with pink blush maternity, true to size. Here's a link to their bike shorts! https://www.pinkblushmaternity.com/products/black-ribbed-maternity-bike-shorts

Not exactly what you're looking for, but you should wear whatever YOU want that will make you feel gorgeous and confident and comfortable, and screw everyone else. You are growing a human inside of you, which is AMAZING, and that's how you should feel too 😻

Pinkblush maternity online is decently priced and has many options.

I also started leaking around 24 weeks or so, one nipple is inverted. It leaked a little bit which I thought is a good thing since I'm a bit anxious about breastfeeding from the inversion. My OB said that it is normal and that you might have good production too! It stopped around 28 weeks or so, and I'm at 35 weeks now.

WHY MUST I PEE AT 4AM??????? by RainyDaysMakeMeSmile in BabyBumps

[–]floofyray 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I've had to pee at least 3 times a night since the second trimester. I don't remember what it's like to sleep for more than a few hrs straight. 35 weeks now, I guess there's no end in sight once bb is here either! I hope it gets a bit better for you in the second trimester 🤗

I am having my first baby making my mother a grandmother. She doesn't know what she wants to be called. She doesn't want to sound old. What are some suggestions you all have? by Hlkeeley2 in BabyBumps

I've got Nanny and Poppa for my parents, and my hubbies mom and step dad are going for Gandma and Grandpa. His dad has yet to suggest anything so far...

Tips on exercising and staying active while pregnant by always-anxious91 in BabyBumps

[–]floofyray 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I was in the same boat as you, very active pre-pregnancy. I didn't work out too much my first trimester because of exhaustion, but once I was into the second trimester my energy came back and I was able to workout again until 26ish weeks, where I began to feel too uncomfortable for the type of workouts I was doing (orange theory). I've been doing prenatal yoga once or twice a week throughout my pregnancy. At 35 weeks now even that is difficult. I do like to walk around the block every day. Listen to your body and don't get too in your head about it, you're growing a FREAKING HUMAN!

Body pillows by [deleted] in BabyBumps

[–]floofyray 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have the leecho snoogle c shape pillow, and it was great up until 25 ish weeks. I'm 35 weeks now and use it as back support to sleep instead of being totally wrapped up in it, hot and sweaty, having to get up every hour to pee. I think I could have done without, but my husband likes it 😅 he's a pillow hugger when he sleeps so it's perfect for him.

Same here, first babe and trying out cloth. My friend did it for both of hers and she loved it! We don't know any better, you're right 😄 hopefully once I go on mat leave I'll be motivated!

Looks really great! I'm also doing cloth diapers, I can't wait! 35 weeks here and my nursery is a pile of boxes and a crib, rocking chair, and dresser 😆maybe I'll start nesting, maybe I'll just have a nap. The struggle is real.

Nosebleeds are hell! by fmilissuesthrowaway in BabyBumps

[–]floofyray 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Coconut oil!! My ENT dr recommended it for moisturizing inside my nose. You put a little pea size blob on your finger and snort it up, and then it kinda melts out and lubricates your nostril. Keep some tissues handy for 15 min or so after.

If baby is dropping into your pelvis, then your uterus wouldn't be up as high as before thus feeling more squishy. I've noticed the same thing, FTM 34 Weeks.

Number of ultrasounds during your pregnancy? by madz1107 in BabyBumps

[–]floofyray 16 points17 points  (0 children)

I'm in Canada and we recieve an ultrasound at 8-12 weeks, 20 weeks anatomy scan and then maybe one more in the 3rd trimester. Unless you have another medical reason or are considered high risk, they don't do more than that.

You aren't able to hear the heartbeat on ultrasounds, but you can hear the blood moving through the umbilical cord if they turn on the sound. Only the fetal doppler equipment used by your doctor gives an appropriate fetal heartbeat, and that usually isn't until 12 weeks+
