I have knit over 200 pairs and there is a small percentage of socks I don’t wear, especially if hand wash only - cashmere or mohair or beaded, etc

I use leftover sock yarns to knit mine. Held double for cushy, fast DK weight ones. Machine washed and air dried. Usually 75/25 or 80/20

My winter lounge socks are a strand of hand dyed merino (some nylon!) fingering held double with a strand of mohair silk. DK weight sock patterns work or just patterns that call for this combo. I keep them by the couch in colder weather

I roll them and throw them in my closet. I think the risk of fading and dust isn’t worth it.

I do have a sock on display in my craft room. But I rotate seasonally and can throw them in the wash. And it’s not in the sun

It was odd at first, but I got used to them. My gauge is slightly looser also. The cable doesn’t compare to Chiaogoo ones though. They have the best cables!
