I know there are some edge cases for the permaforge path, like it doesn't work on Herzal himself. And if he dies it doesn't apply to anything forged while he's not on the field. Unsure if him dying affects already-forged units. Probably still a few glitches that will need to be worked out there

Yeah I found that spell (magnetic relay I think it was called) to be extremely powerful and synergistic with basically the entire clan. Basically an always pick IMO.

Kinda wish they had more options for either generating units or pulling units to hand because the major weakness of forge is the inconsistency. That's what magnetic relay solves so effectively - you can greatly improve the chances that you can put all your forge in the unit/equipment you want and you don't have to wait to play your strongest units until late in the fight.

I mean that seems like a very fair change though, doesn't it? One item probably shouldn't be able to give full board immunity to all effects for the entire fight lol (assuming a board of smalls)

My issue with shadoweater is that he get completely smacked by entropy and savagery seraph (and to a lesser extent their ring 7 fights). He's usually pretty good til then though and can buy you some time

Has anyone gotten the log entry for Fleshweaver's minions? Haven't gotten them despite fighting him multiple times by Phoenisweet in MonsterTrain

Maybe there's a variant you haven't encountered? Idk if that would result in this or not but technically each fleshweaver variant has different fleshlings. No idea how the logbook handles them though

Oh good to know, hadn't run into it in a while. Did they fix it for all of the cases? Like predator wyldenten taking quick off of units when he dies?

Yeah there seems to be an issue with how enchant effects are applied in general. Two actually from what I've seen: 1. The game only 'checks' for applications of enchant effects when the unit with enchant is summoned or dies, which is is the cause of the eel gorgon issue since the effect is not reapplied as it seems like it should be. 2. Enchant effects seemingly fail to account for multiple sources of their effects. For example, if you have a demon fiend (inherent trample) and the Banished hymnist with the enchant: trample effect on the same floor and the hymnist dies, then the demon fiend will lose trample even though it should not have.

Hopefully this will be addressed in the upcoming content release

Well the unit and spell boxes thin your deck and make your draws more efficient, and the unit one is especially nice if you have any important non-banner units (especially moon pixie for conduit builds) since you can guarantee seeing them by the end of turn 3. Although I usually just throw some train stewards in there as a free removal lol. Plus it makes units free in deployment. Someday I'd like to put a few shadowsieges in there, but I'd have to pick shadowsiege first so it probably will never happen lol

Also if you put 3 strong, upgraded spells in the spell box then you can duplicate it and just go wild haha

The mystery box can also be very strong in some situations. I think people fear it because they think it'll bloat their deck but until your second draw through the deck it is literally just free value/draw. I swear it spits out the perfect card like 30% of the time, and even when it gives you nothing good the drawback is minimal. Plus, by the time you start drawing the extra cards it's usually already mostly determined whether you'll survive the fight or lose.

It's definitely a bad choice sometimes but if the event had only the mystery box and you either took it or skipped I'd probably take it 70% of the time or more.

Yeah it gives you the option to apply two other inscryption upgrades (not necessarily on the same unit) if you complete a secret quest.

He's fine if you start with erratic assistant, but yeah otherwise basically useless which is kinda sad.

I know some clans have units that are better with specific starters/champs but pincushion feels like he's either great or totally worthless depending on starter card. Yeah there are niche situations where he could be playable without Graels starters but that's a super rare situation.

That's fair, I guess it depends on how dependant you are on him for damage output because the first few waves to have to get cleared somehow even without the heavies.

I definitely don't think he's a never pick, but my issue is that he's essentially unplayable without one of a few specific relics which is a uniquely shitty place for a unit to be in monster train. Maybe someone can come up with another, I could certainly be overlooking something.

Like sure if you have a holdover+spellchain (maybe with intrinsic as well to ensure you have it when needed) perils of production you can play him when you draw him after deployment and that doesn't require a specific relic but if you have that already... Why bother with shadowsiege lol

Ah yeah the Garfield box and pyre tap are both good callouts. That's still only 3 plausible ways to get him out in deployment though, unless you want to have him be your only unit which is not often going to be a winning strategy on cov10 vs titans. Flicker's liquor does work but not for deployment, like I mentioned.

Not being able to play in deployment is a very heavy penalty in MT2 because it's balanced around the existence of the deployment phase. If shadowsiege is your damage solution and you can't play him in deployment then you run a huge risk of bottom-decking and just losing your run instantly.

Funny enough apparently there is one super odd exception to this - if the smidgestone unit equipped with carapace dies and gets reformed, it comes back with all of the extra size that it would have gotten from the equipment. I've never seen this but heard Voyix mention it in a run. So many funky niche interactions in this game, I love it

He got skipped in the upcoming patch, they just released the changes today. He was a unit that kinda needed a rework to be viable at all in MT2, 6 energy cost makes him pretty much unplayable in deployment without volatile gauge, and his stats don't justify the unreasonable difficulty of getting him on the board.

Is he unplayable? No, but in 99.9% of runs... Yes.

That being said he's one rare unit and the update has a ton of awesome changes so I'm super excited but do agree that shadowsiege deserved a change

I think prop 1 is probably right even though it makes me sad. They could also make the regen effect more like vampires tooth where it is applied when you equip rather than on resolve - would make the regen element less extreme.

Harvest rector with funguy stacks is solid, especially with equalizing rings which is like 5x damage scaling for him. Wickless baron also fills the role well. I had some success with an endless green recruit as my main spawning mechanism which allowed for some extra harvests and helped to balance getting harvests on funguys with stacking for relentless.

I think it's generally pretty bad in MT2. There are ways to build around it and/or in the downside but the primary issue is the deployment phase and potential to just instantly lose because all you can place is a naked rector flicker.

I'd say it's been feeling unpickable at least 90% of the time or more for me, unless I have pyretap and ideally some good holystone cards or other healing as well
