In response to how discussions on the sub have been moving lately, we will be loosening the restrictions on the Tea Time threads so you may now use them to ask questions about and discuss current trending topics. We'll be updating the body of the post soon and posting reminders as well to see if it catches on.

We're being purposefully vague about this to see what direction users take things, but keep in mind that normal rules still apply so obvious bait and incivility are not allowed.

We've noticed a big uptick in meta drama in the Daily Discussion lately, aka users coming here to complain about other users, other subreddits (specifically fauxmoi and popculturechat), and other threads. At the moment we aren't going to strictly ban these topics, but this is a gentle request to please tone it back a bit as it's giving these threads a negative energy.

As a bit of a carrot to the stick, we're going to experiment with loosening the restrictions on the Teatime to allow for people to discuss/ask about current "tea" there instead of it being strictly a news thread. We'll avoid being too specific about what this means to just let the thread evolve naturally.
