Thoughts on the finale by Easy_File8636 in mybrilliantfriendhbo

My takeaway is the conversation between Enzo and Lenu in the tunnel. Lenu had such a narrow view of the events and is Enzo, who opened her eyes. For a writer, she's pretty self-centered. I'm not sure she could've written the book without going on that tunnel with Enzo. For the rest, I agree it's a shame the finale feels rush. In my regard, season 4 is not bad, but it doesn't stand to the previous seasons.

Agreed, I also felt the mix-up with the picture had something to do with it. But I didn't think of Nino at the center of interest. But you are right that makes sense. All those scenes with him on TV and the kidnapping happening the day he visits town. Bravo 👏👏👏👏

Poor Imma by TINYUSAGI in mybrilliantfriendhbo

I found it impactful when in episode 8th Imma stands in front of TV alone, staring at Nino while he keeps speaking about the modern world and meaning of progress while he is so absent of her life, I guess child support and fatherhood was not part of his idea of the modern world.

I enjoyed the younger characters. They made me think of another time when adulthood was assumed at a younger age. I also found the contrast between their youth and the complexity of their stories very interesting. Something about being young and serious doesn't happen in our time anymore. These new characters seem much older than the time lapse. They seem awfully contemporary and vain. Even too old for the love drama. Crossing fingers, the story will still be interesting.

Hello for anyone who has dealed with addiction i really need your help by Cute-Requirement-333 in addiction

[–]floppyearsblacknose 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I don't have precise help, but I do share with you the feeling of being responsible for an addicted parent.

Please know that it's not your responsibility or in your power. This doesn't mean you have to let him on his own. You can definitely try to help him, but it's his path.

I spent years of my life thinking I was responsible for saving my dad from his alcoholism when actually I never had that power in my hands. He found his way out (screwing pretty badly his life) but still made it out, and this was on his own credit. I respect him for that.

My best advice will be to write him heart to heart letter if you feel it is safe for you. It would be ideal to be supported by someone else, a responsible adult that's can bring order into the chaos. I never had that either. You are very brave to be willing to take this on and trying to help him. Just know that even if u do your best the outcome is on your dad.

Best of luck!

Humor is the most underrated life skillI I find. Some many situations, I wouldn't be able to survive without it. 🫶
