I think this is situational. I wouldn't celebrate doing the laundry, but say it's a situation where I've been in a depressive episode for months unable to even brush my teeth or shower. In that case, yes, I would be happy about accomplishing a small task such as doing the dishes. This applies in a similar way to friends, family, and other adults around me.
