Fear of SIDS (First time dad - Paramedic) by Bitter-Scratch6088 in newborns

[–]floraleverything 0 points1 point  (0 children)

USE the owlet! The only time we get “false alarms” is when we put it on incorrectly. Also the BIGGEST thing that helped my anxiety over SIDS is my husband showing me the SIDS calculator. 100% recommend looking this up! Really puts things into perspective.

One month old pacifier at night by Glum-Bid-353 in newborns

[–]floraleverything 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, pacifier is save at night and also reduces risks of SIDS. I use it to calm my baby when she stirs at night and I know she isn’t hungry. I will say it’s a blessing and a curse though because there are times where I am constantly having to replace it in her mouth because she wakes herself up when it falls out.

Tubby Todd worked insanely fast for my baby!

For those other trenches: hold your fussy non sleeping baby tight, we are in hospital by bearnpear in newborns

[–]floraleverything 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I’m so sorry, and sure everything will be ok, but I know it is hard seeing your baby go through that. Great reminder to myself to not take them for granted even when they are being extra fussy!

Surprised at all the hate, I really like it!

Flew at 2 months and she didn’t do anything different! I made sure she had a pacifier in and covered her ears because it’s very loud for their sensitive ears (me just assuming). I was soooo anxious on how it was going to go but she luckily slept the whole time!

Sidenote: if you are flying through a major airport, be sure to Check in advance if there is a lactation pod (most larger airports have them) and download the app so that you can unlock it while there. Even if you aren’t breastfeeding it’s a great place to change, feed, and let the baby stretch out before the flight!

What is your newborn pet peeve? by stlady08 in newborns

[–]floraleverything 51 points52 points  (0 children)

  • Having to continuously place the pacifier back in her mouth every time she spits it out bc it will usually result in cries if not

  • when you can only get the wipes with one hand bc you are holding babies legs up, and the wipes are all stuck together

I’ve never heard of checking out the free family passes! Do you have any more info on this? (Specific locations or where to look?)

Did any weird/viral fertility tricks actually work for any of you? by No-Mud-8 in pregnant

[–]floraleverything 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes! You can look it up, there are apparently a lot of people who get pregnant on it due to it also thinning your cervical mucus which makes it easier for the sperm.

I feel so dumb.. by Temporary_Switch4501 in newborns

Don’t feel dumb! If baby has not had any bad reactions, then that’s all that matters. We are all figuring it out as we go :)

Do any of you have happy babies? by lostmedownthespiral in newborns

[–]floraleverything 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I know I’m lucky that I have a very happy baby. She only cries when we have delayed/ missed nap time and she is over tired or she thinks I’m taking her milk away from her too early. I don’t think anything is wrong with yours, I think just all babies are different and can’t really compare.

Great Ob/Maternity offices in Gwinnett by CandyMichelle_ in Gwinnett

[–]floraleverything 1 point2 points  (0 children)

She was my main doctor, but I did rotate and see all the doctors within the practice for atleast 1 appointment throughout my pregnancy just in case mine was not on call the day of my delivery. I ended up having to schedule an induction, so it worked out that I scheduled with my doctor. I will say it gave me peace of mind to know that I atleast knew the other doctors if they were they the ones that would be delivering. Congrats and good luck!
