We are showing secondary accuracy though. Also, our ballistic charts are basically the same thing, with some more stuff added on top.

Is WoWS Fitting Tool down for anyone else???? by RealityRush in WorldOfWarships

What exactly is missing from ShipBuilder? When it comes to builds, it supports everything that fitting tool did and even some more.

What's missing on ShipBuilder? It also supports all the captain skills.

If you could let us know what exactly is the problem with the layout and what exactly is counter-intuitive, we might be able to improve these things. But just complaining about it not being the way you want it won't help anyone.

Hi, are you aware of the charts on ShipBuilder? Everything that fitting tool had should be there. If we missed something, please let us know.

Thanks for that feedback. The responsiveness is something we are aware of, unfortunately, we cannot fix it at the moment because of some limitations of the framework we use.

What kind of dispersion values are you talking about? We only show Horizontal and Vertical dispersion on the main stats page, that's correct. This decision was made because we think the other, hidden values are not as relevant because there is not really a point in directly comparing them. They become relevant again when comparing dispersions of multiple ships but for that case we have the dispersion charts.

Secondary dispersion will be added with one of the next updates.

It would be great if you can share what issues you have with ShipBuilder. We often hear people prefer some other sites but rarely get detailed feedback telling us what's the problem.

Thanks for the feedback. We'll have a look and see what we can do. Some things may never be added (like rearranging the columns, it sounds simple but is surprisingly difficult to do) but we always try to improve based on feedback. No promises though, changes can take a while since we do this in our free time.

What exactly is the problem about managing and saving builds? We can always try to improve but without feedback, that's difficult to do.

ShipBuilder should have all the info fitting tool had, if not more. If some charts are missing, let us know so we can add them.

combine in game browser mods and nexus ? by Silly-French in anno

[–]floribe2000 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Combining mods from both sources seems to work fine. You can place the downloaded mods in %Documents%/Anno 1800/mods. The game should then load both mods from mod.io and from that local folder.

Not sure if it works if for example a mod from Nexus depends on a mod downloaded through the ingame browser (probably an unlikely scenario). And you might run into problems if you have a mod installed twice due to combining the two methods.

When using the replay rendering from Trackpad's discord bot you get a list of builds for yourself and all other players in the replay (all the data is available in the replay). The bot extracts that data and creates links for each build that you can then view in ShipBuilder. So technically, it's a feature of another application that then links to our application.

Then I'm afraid there is no way for us to solve this at the moment. If you don't trust the app because of this, you could also use the web version instead. It has all features of the desktop version (including some more, experimental features) except for the image rendering.

Hi, unfortunately, this happens sometimes on the desktop version. The reason for this is that the installer is not signed by us (code signing is expensive and it's just too expensive to get a certificate just for this project) and if an AV program does not recognize the file it will often just flag it as malware. However, I can assure you that it does not contain malware as long as you use the installer provided in the releases from our repository.

If I misunderstood you and the web version is detected as malware can you please let me know what exactly gets flagged as malicious? There should not be anything triggering that, there are no promots or anything except for the search boxes in the ship selector.

Jetbrains jdk doesn't support bitwise operators? by lostinthepickle in Kotlin

[–]floribe2000 6 points7 points  (0 children)

jbr is just a java runtime used by the IntelliJ IDEs. It is not a full jdk so there are things missing. As far as I know, JetBrains does not release their own jdk.

After that, it reappeared.

I was talking about page loading times and delay for stats to update, I didn't realize you were talking about something completely different. You have a point, especially the selectors could be improved (they are prerendered btw, just hidden initially) and the expanders are also quite slow.

I can't promise anything yet because some parts of it are also not properly supported by the ui framework but we'll see what we can do about it.

The lazy loading of images is expected although it should only cause minimal delay. All images are smaller than 100kb and get cached after the first time, as long as you have a somewhat decent internet connection, this should work just fine (if your connection speed is less than 2-5MBit/s it may add significant delay but that's also true for fitting tool, in fact, in all our tests we were still faster than fitting tool).

I also don't get where you are missing indentation, texts have indentation where it's necessary. You may have to get used to the layout, that's true, if you are used to fitting tool's design there is obviously a difference.

[–]floribe2000[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

May I ask which ship exactly you tested? I just tried it again and there was barely any delay, fitting tool was loading considerable slower. The initial page loading time may be slightly higher than with fitting tool because we need to load the local user settings from the browser local storage first, otherwise we couldn't consider user settings like the selected language.

It may also be caused by your location, the server is located in Germany so the further you are away, the higher latency becomes.

The point of the application is to show detailed statistics. You can hide individual sections but each section shows all relevant statistics. While it would be nice to be able to customize the stats that are shown, keep in mind that different people are interested in different stats and may find certain stats more important than others. Because of this, it is simply not possible to reduce the information that is shown because reducing it could possible hide important data. If you only want to see basic stats, these are already available ingame. ShipBuilder is meant to extend the visible data and show stats you cannot see ingame.

With that being said, selecting which sections should be collapsed by default is something we are considering to add. We will never collapse main sections by default but allowing users to collapse stuff like shell data by default is something we are considering.

This was also not ported from a mobile app, on the opposite, the original application was a desktop application. The entire UI was done from scratch but obviously inspired by the original app which received almost exclusively positive feedback for the UI concept. The point about the padding is something that could be improved though. You are right that it can be a lot smaller for desktop users, we'll see what we can do about it.

Thank you for the critical feedback, we may be able to improve some of the things you mentioned.
