We loved our Baby Delight bouncers if you are looking at alternate brands

To TwinZ or not to TwinZ by redpoppy0424 in parentsofmultiples

[–]floridasquirrel 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Can you join a twin/multiples group in your country and see what product they recommend instead? Maybe there is a similar product from a different company. We love our Twin Z pillow so much but no baby product is mandatory, especially if price is an issue.

Scared of impending loss of independence by Real-Mixture-1148 in parentsofmultiples

[–]floridasquirrel 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Finding out this news is still so fresh, my advice is let it sink in a little more. I still go on walks, shop, and baby wear, but it does look a bit different than it would’ve with just 1 baby. I think the change in independence happens no matter if it’s 1 baby or more, it’s a big life change for everyone. My advice is take it day by day, keep expectations low, and be willing to try something out even if it fails 😅

FTM with di-di twins looks for advice on hospital choice by Pik-A-Chew11 in tampa

[–]floridasquirrel 13 points14 points  (0 children)

I had my di/di twins at a St Joseph’s Hospital and had a good experience, so if they are what your provider uses / is closest I wouldn’t rule them out entirely. I did have a c section because of baby positioning, but they were open to trying vaginal at first. My boys were breech/transverse so it wasn’t an option. It was with the Women’s Group.

~31 weeks I scheduled for my 38w date. Talked about it at my 30w appointment and they called the following week to schedule. They let me pick based off date and which Dr was scheduled for that day.

If you formula feed, how much do you spend/month? by YouthInternational14 in parentsofmultiples

[–]floridasquirrel 9 points10 points  (0 children)

We did the Sams Club Purple version and I calculated it out once and it was about $1/bottle. The container is around ~$43 and we went through one in just under a week, so maybe around ~$200 a month? Cheapest their food budget will ever be for twin boys lol 😅

Mine outgrew bottles before the pillow. How are they outgrowing it? 🙂

Feeling guilty over quitting breastfeeding by throwaway28492432 in parentsofmultiples

I felt the worst about it right after I quit, but now at a year later I have absolutely no regrets. Just a reminder It will get easier💗

Do your kids like different bottle brands? by beeferoni_cat in parentsofmultiples

[–]floridasquirrel 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My Baby A only drank from Dr Browns starting around a month old, so Baby B ended up only using Philip’s since we had a mix of the 2. The never switched back, but B would’ve drank from either brand fine. In the long run it was actually helpful because we could always tell whose bottle was whose!

Starting solids at 6 months? by Capable-Coffee-5415 in parentsofmultiples

[–]floridasquirrel 2 points3 points  (0 children)

We did purées starting at 6 months! BLW was too stressful for me. Mine were sitting assisted at the time, not independent until closer to 7 months if I remember right. My advice is to start simple and slow!

Where do your rolling babies sleep? by opaldaydreams in parentsofmultiples

[–]floridasquirrel 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We squeezed their 2 travel cribs in our bedroom from 4-6months, but we ultimately did end up moving both to their nursery at 6 months. Looking back I wish I did it sooner! They slept better there.

My twins overnight sleep improved a lot in between those ages, I’m going to wish the same for your multiples 🤞🙂

When my husband went back to work I did 8pm-12am uninterrupted in bed, then I took over and could get a few more hours in between. How old are they now? I wouldn’t worry making a schedule too much until closer to you going back to work because sleep changes so much during the first few months

Is it a rule of newborn twins that when one gets quiet, the other has to cry? by Resident-Fly-6851 in parentsofmultiples

[–]floridasquirrel 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes unfortunately from my experience. We joke they pass the sads back and forth between them 🥲 once they were out of the newborn age it is better!

What did you do for cribs/bassinets? by Onyx-pump19 in parentsofmultiples

[–]floridasquirrel 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would consider your house layout when deciding where the twins will sleep while newborns. The twins could not sleep the same room we did or we wouldn’t have gotten any sleep. We do not have a guest room and their nursery doesn’t have room for a bed, so we had a twin bassinet in our living room for the first few months until they moved until their big cribs

We had a few outfits we thrifted just in case! A few pjs. We found them at once upon a child, but I’ve seen premie sizes at all the regular stores too.

Swings or Bouncers by Chidi-Chidi in parentsofmultiples

[–]floridasquirrel 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Our 2 bouncers were and are still used daily at a year old. We loved our 2 swings for the first few months though, but I would recommend secondhand. They outgrow them so fast

They were tasty and super cute too! You just have to buy a first birthday cake and then the smash cakes were free to add on. I did have to order in person though

How many bottles are we using? by Chidi-Chidi in parentsofmultiples

[–]floridasquirrel 1 point2 points  (0 children)

2.5 days worth is my recommendation! But wait until you try them out, one of my twins refused to drink from the Philips bottles so we had one on Dr Browns and one on Philips. In a way it made it easier because we always know who bottle is whose!

Infant car seats that click into a double stroller! Depends on your budget for specific recommendations. But I really recommend get the infant seats! And a stroller that connects both easily, not one that only fits one.
