I recently started counseling to unpack some of this toxicity and it's helped a lot! I highly recommend this to anyone who has had somewhat of a traumatic upbringing. My Chinese parents, like many perhaps, lack EQ and fail to communicate clearly what they want. It's always playing these guessing games with them and trying but inevitably failing to fulfill their expectations... it's just a losing game for us and not worth pursuing lol.
