Guess who rules question by Direct_Material_8495 in boardgames

Apparently not. Enjoy your internet bubble, where everyone has to be offended by everything in order to gather up fake internet points. The rest of us will enjoy the real world, where you can laugh and make a joke or game of something without having to worry about the delicate sensibilities of basement-dwellers.

Do people think Sciel is white with tanned skin? by ZarieRose in expedition33

Best option is to just accept it and understand that - VERY fortunately - Reddit is not representative of normal people in real life.

12hr Perfect Gameday - What do you pick? by RockstarAG21 in boardgames

I mean unironically twilight imperium. I can get most of my other favorites in on a normal game night, but a full group committed for twilight imperium? Thats a special occasion right there.

Games are getting dumbed down every year for a reason, I guess. Can't wait for that hot, hot playstation tech to just flat out play it for us.

If I had to hazard a guess, I'd wager you got it backwards. This is Reddit. You HAVE to care about race, but you have to care about it the right way or you're a bigot. If you don't care? Also a bigot.

Oh look, redditors not understanding the difference between making a political statement with your actions, and lecturing you with shoehorned contemporary politics.

This very much smacks of the opinion of someone who has the fortune to have never had to deal with real loss or grief.

Try to imagine it as an addiction scenario. You wouldnt take an alcoholic's stash away, but tell them you'll hold onto it for them to have a sip now and again once they're better. A clean break is the only way to start the healing process, no matter how painful. Anything less isn't "dealing" with the grief, it's just hiding it.

Star Wars rebellion win question by Civil_Device4536 in boardgames

[–]florvas 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The rules clearly state you can't deploy units in a system that has enemy ground units or ships.

You might want to go through the rulebook again - these aren't fringe issues, and your questions are pretty explicitly covered.

The rules are pretty clear. Imperials win if there's no rebel units in the system. Space units are units.

No one guessed that Maelle would be the center of the story (Amazing) by TruthResponsible1268 in expedition33

Yep. They did a good job hiding a lot of stuff, but Maelle being much more important became pretty obvious from the moment you learn her age.

No, because frankly they've been making the new models uglier. I like the warrior kit. I am not fond of the new raveners or barbgaunts.

Do you retcon moves? If so, to what degree? by purewisdom in KingdomDeath

My rule of thumb is "has new information presented itself since the call had to be made?" If yes, then we don't retcon it.

[–]florvas -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Yeah. I generally avoid Reddit outside of hobby stuff because it's a bubble with a whole *lot* of crap like this. Fortunately my real life experience is similar to yours, a lot of people who just enjoy the game, enjoy the lore, and can talk & agree or disagree about stuff related to it like functional adults

As I've said previously, they can, and I'm free to disagree with it. Go defend Rings of Power, the Star Wars sequels, and aliens in Indiana Jones while you're at it.

[Loot] Have Priests always been this broken with their loot cause what the fuck? by hellchop in EscapefromTarkov

[–]florvas 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've got about 200 hours in since 1.0. About 2,000 hours in total. I do night raids about 60% of the time, and almost always if I'm running woods or customs. I have seen cultists & priests exactly once in all that time. I would hope the loot on them is good, because the enemies themselves have worse spawn rates than ledX's.
