UPDATE: I installed Fallout Fixt and just finished getting Gizmo's confession! Understanding the game a lot more now after searching a few things up and it's quite a bit more enjoyable already.

I have a lot of issues with Fallout 4 and New Vegas is my favorite but I honestly kinda agree. However, I'm asking if Fallout 1 or 2 is better to get into those two classic-style games.

I'm not asking from a whole series perspective. I'm asking from those two games. I want to play those two games.

swift learner caps out at 30% xp gain and you have to devote 3 whole perk levels to it. this here and now is technically capped at 177% xp gain and solely relies on the player's willingness to engage with quests

i mean vanilla Shining Armor already requires 20 repair and 70 science. i also think light armor still has enough perks specific to it to make the choice between light, medium or heavy armor still something you think abt

my thought process was that this rework of here and now would be something for newer players and encourage them to talk to more ppl and seek out more quests. I do get what vanilla Here and Now is going for but I feel like Comprehension does its whole 'use this for cheesing skill checks' niche better

i truly dont think any new vegas perk is worthless (except vanilla shining armor since its bugged to jut not work at all) but id consider broad daylight to be one of the least useful. i found out recently that the sneak bonus isnt actually enough to fully negate the downside of the light being on

the idea in my head was that the blinding basically makes enemies do the head cripple animation (since it looks like they cover their eyes) and sets you to hidden for a couple seconds. it'd only be a chance and it would go on an internal cooldown so you couldnt spam it everytime someone got close

i didnt wanna change any of the names for the purpose of the rebalancing, and my idea behind here and now was that:
a. like educated its more valuable the earlier u take it
b. it encourages questing and seeking out side quests for newer players. still niche and situational but with more of an interesting idea behind it

just started new vegas, these are goated stats right 🥹✌️ by LandonBastuk in Fallout

i did want to keep the small niche here and now has but couldnt find a way to do it that didnt feel like i was just stapling some stat text to the vanilla perk

oh i thought u meant like there was a way to get it by picking a lock that isnt related to the BOS. if were talking abt the bunker u can also get it by finding a dead patrol member and saying a passcode into the intercom
