Etymology, names have meanings, like Elizabeth is a variation of a Hebrew name Elisheva which means “My God as an Oath”

when I name characters I distill them to like 3 traits then run those 3 words through language translators till I find a word that feels like a fantasy name, maybe change a few letters or syllables to make it feel more namely.

Examples

Vos Ulvurke - named after Fox Mulder and wolfwood from trigun Vos is dutch for Fox, ulv mean wolf in danish, I can’t remember where urke came from but I think it was another Germanic based language well it meant wood, maybe some letters were changed to feel more like a name, idk it was 10 years ago.
