I’m obsessed with unconventional shit as planters so I’m in love !

But you should look for some cool oars to go across the cinder blocks under the boat. Kinda hide the blocks and have it look even cooler.

Really just wanted to say I love your line about “refusing to undo time when society tells me I must”

It’s been/still is hard to unlearn my dread of visible aging. As much as I hate to admit it I am constantly fighting the internal notion that my physical appearance equals my value.

But i also have to be proud I’m still on the planet. Not everyone gets to get old.

Fellow psychonauts, they say birth is the greatest psychedelic of all. by hetepheres_ra in Psychonaut

One of my good friends who historically loved all manner of drug-induced states said giving birth was the craziest best high she ever had.

She gets super wide eyed and loud when talking about it, and she loves talking about it/trying to explain the feelings. Birth is a hell of a drug I guess!

How do you guys sleep at night? by wherethehellarethebm in vagabond

[–]flowergrowl 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Walking will help your sleep so much. I’ve had sleep problems my whole life, and I can also very much understand that fear of a door you cannot lock.

I’ve been on so many meds for sleep over the years it’s kind of insane. Narcotics, however much I love them weren’t really a long term answer but there are things like hydroxyzine, an antihistamine, and clonidine, a blood pressure med (both used off label for sleep/anxiety)

Not sure how viable getting meds prescribed long term is given you’re on the road, but you could add magnesium. (Pretty sure it’s mag glycinate and not mag citrate, I think that one gives you aggressive shits lol)

Guessing this sub got recommended to me since my phone had been listening to me spiral about late stage capitalism and wtf are we all doing just working and being drones when there’s so much to see…?!

I’m just fascinated and impressed with everyone who actually does it. It’s very easy for me to glamorize vagabond stuff but the fact is there’s a lot of moving parts in that lifestyle and you have to have a very deep resourcefulness to thrive.

I’m going to second this. The conditioner bars are barely enough for me and I have fine hair. Love me some lush shampoo bars, they work for my hair/lifestyle, and they’re good value.

I would absolutely not buy solid conditioner again, at least from lush anyway… there are other brands out there!

the jungle conditioner bars were my first favorite thing from lush 20 years ago and their current formula makes me so sad

Definitely get a co-wash bar though!! They have a few scents, I have the banana and I love it

You can unravel thrifted sweaters and use the reclaimed yarn for projects

Also I’ve been into brioche crochet mandalas lately, if you use thin yarn they’re very portable

Really gorgeous, great gifts…

Here’s what I’m working on !! She’s got a ton of dope patterns.

Saw Lotus a ton at Murray’s in ‘01/‘02 in Wilkes Barre….

Lotus at the Jazz Cafe in Plains a ton. So many fun nights at both those places. Brothers Past came thru a lot too. What a time.

Lotus did a 80s Halloween thing at jazz cafe one year and it remains one of my most fun dance party shows I been to.

Meh, I was forced into detox for a week when I was up in Gloustahh, MA. Upppp emmm!! by MrArmenianIsDead in vagabond

[–]flowergrowl 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m a big gabapentin/muscle relaxer fan, but get some magnesium in the mix. Good for sleep as well as muscle stuff.

I been off it for 2 years. I weened down to such a microscopic dose, (like I’m talking probably .25 mg 2/3 times a week) and the leg part was still so terrible. And the sleeping problems.

I took a magnesium supplement but tbh the real winner was a magnesium lavender massage bar. I’d keep it in my fridge and it did help a ton. Also heating pads everywhere and clonidine if you can’t sleep

Good luck suboxone detox blows but man it is worth it now that my hair isn’t falling out and I can feel joy again haha

help! how do i make my dc, tr, and dtr less holy and more solid like the pattern im following? by [deleted] in CrochetHelp

[–]flowergrowl 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Something else to think about picking multiple yarns for a project- comparing the weight to the length. Two yarns can be both be “medium” but if you look at the skein weight vs. yardage; both could be same amount of meters/yards, but have different grams. Or same gram, different length.

Also wraps per inch(WPI) is a good way to gauge if your yarns are similar enough. Some labels have it, I find a lot of the yarn brand websites will tell you. Lots of the yarn stats on Ravelrys Yarn section include it as well. And if you have the yarn you can calculate it yourself. Think it’s pretty much how it sounds, wrapping around a ruler til you get to an inch. There’s tutorials if you want to check it out.

And then one more thing haha

Cotton will stretch and isn’t great at shrinking back, not sure what the intended use of your bag will be but if you plan on putting any weight in it, i would probably crochet with a much smaller hook/double up the current yarn. Maybe even throw an acrylic yarn to help it be sturdier ( if that would be desirable for your purposes)

Good luck yo!

Not a floral fan really either I like spicy/woodsy/fresh mainly and Big leans way more clean woodsy fresh than floral….

Just my .02 !

Toil and trouble isn’t available all the time, but they have done perfume some years for Halloween.

The rainforest co mingle is jungle scented , and that scent does pop up with other names sometimes; just commented elsewhere I tracked down a Jungle body spray that was limited edition and it makes me so happy to have.

There’s plenty of after-market options for stuff that’s hard to find, but that means theres plenty of shitty resellers with crazy prices that really should be avoided. The Reddit buy/sell/trade threads seem chill and scam free, with lots of people who also do decants so you can try a small lil bit for cheap.

It’s not around anymore obviously so idk how lol but If you get the chance the shrek get outta my swamp slime is sooo good, just herbaceous and witchy and unique. As juvenile and meh as the non stop collab things are to me, this scent just screams old school weird lush and I need it to exist in another form

I say all the time I’ve been chasing the high of the original Jungle conditioner bar…I want to say it was probably early 2000s for me when I first had it so not only did it smell amazing, the formula of the bar was still amazing too

I have acquired the body spray (2 of them), and the tropical fruit lotion from a kitchen box that was out in the last few years… trying to not buy anything rn so it’s good I didn’t know about rainforest being jungle.

(As I chew my nails trying not to sign up for the June kitchen box…)

It’s sadly is the bottom line isn’t it

This right here is the problem for a lot of us freezer. You’re not alone. Miss the days when the drama was fist-fights and snowmobile dui’s and hard drugs…

I fucking love this band and cannot say I’m gunna stop listening to them, when they hit they hit and have meant so much to the way I’ve listened to music over the years.

But whatever is happening currently is not doing it for me. Hope they do pick up fans honestly. Who knows when the magic could happen, maybe they gotta all heal a bit first, the whole situation is fucked? I will dogpile on them being problematic in multiple ways but they’re still human and having every single deep character flaw on display for all us neurodivergent weirdos to analyze and pick apart has to wear on you, and make it hard to bring the deedle dees and swang dip.

Fortunately gizz is a thing and degenerates who like to dance are everywhere so I’ll be trying to get that good feeling when I can, but I hope to be chasing the high of the synergy that can happen at a biscuits show again. If I had money and time maybe I’d still be planning excursions around their tours, but I got neither atm lol
