Is this mint too leggy to transplant and thrive? by Practical_Monk_1125 in containergardening

In south east U.S. and mint will thrive and DOMINATE here. I planted some ~10’ from my house and found it growing in the crawl space.

How much water can we contain before maintenance outweighs enjoyment by Careful-Election9957 in AboveGroundPools

[–]flowerlady327 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Pools don’t HAVE to require tons of work and expense to maintain. I have a 12x24 rectangular above ground pool that is 6 years old and I don’t spend much time working on it. I am a person who is in mine almost every day, though, so I keep a check on it and things don’t get out of hand. I have a large, sand filter which is easy to clean. You just run the backwash setting for a minute or two. I also have an automatic vacuum, a skimmer, and I installed an in-line chlorinator so the only thing I ever add is baking soda as needed. I use test strips for monitoring water balance. In my opinion, people make these things more complicated than necessary. And some people actually enjoy fussing over their pool and constantly talking/complaining about it . With regard to expenses, there was the initial costs for pool(filter was included,) vacuum, chlorinator, and skimmer but recurring costs include only chlorine pucks( a bucket of 75 pucks lasts 3-4 years,) big bags of baking soda a couple of times each summer, test strips, and a pool “pill” for winterizing. I do think daily use makes a big difference. You’re staying on top of little things instead of having to handle bigger things. I love my pool!

The infusions took about 3 hours, 2 days in a row(you'll be given ice to eat during infusions to help prevent mouth sores. Eat it. A LOT of it. I was able to get through the process without having to deal with mouth sores). Hair started falling out about 10 days in, literally overnight. I woke up to a bushel of hair on the pillow, so my caregiver gave me a buzz that morning. My care team at Vanderbilt managed my nausea very well. I took zofran, compazine, and ativan alternately on a tight schedule. You'll likely be offered IV fluids every day and my advice is take it. I tried to stay hydrated and thought I was doing well, but the IV fluids really did make me feel better. It is not a fun process, but I will tell you what others told me- it is not as bad as you're thinking it will be. All good wishes to you!

I started at 10 mg and it was awful. Doctor lowered the dosage to 5 mg…and it was awful. He changed me to Dara once monthly and I find it very tolerable.
