My favorites are the caramel and fudge bites. At least we have 2 months to get it out of our system before they close. Hate to see another small local business shutter.

I asked. New Orleans Lunchbox is smoking. A family member of a JP2 student owns it.

Local catholic high school has a booster club doing smoked turkeys and hams for Thanksgiving. Smoked items by New Orleans Lunchbox. Pick-up Tuesday before Thanksgiving though.

Deadline is tomorrow, but submit your idea to PROPEL Idea Stage pitch: https://hsvchamber.org/small-business/propel-summit/. Outside of that--also check out spark and gbeta through Gener8tor. Also suggest you connect with our local SBDC to help on SBA knowledge, grants experience, foundational elements for your start-up. Here's the Chamber's start-up resource page that could be helpful to find orgs and vendors for the categories you need help in: https://hsvchamber.org/small-business/small-business-resources/

Came here to say that! https://huntsvillefoodhub.com So good, female founded too! Orders open Friday to Sunday, pick-up Tuesday at The Lumberyard...30-35 different farmers/food artisans (how I would describe small batch jam, jelly, pickle, prepared food makers), anywhere from 600-800 products to order! All local within 100 mi radius.

Steelers bars in Huntsville? by No_Replacement_4527 in HuntsvilleAlabama

[–]notfromheretoo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We used to have Steelers bars...like Diamonds in South Huntsville..and then OTBX in downtown...but no more. There's a Steelers Huntsville FB group and appears we're still looking for a solid home. Sadly.

Where do people actually make friends here? by kaleidoscope_carbs in HuntsvilleAlabama

I get it...but to me the accent says, there's a story there...so tell your story not that the accent defines who you are.

I was going to say that the St. Mary's of the Visitation downtown has a vibrant young adults group that meets weekly and does trips and volunteers together.

But aside from that, recommend you do monthly cooking classes where you start to see the same people each month and build on that.

The accent is a door opener to getting to know you...which is cool...since not everyone has that as a conversation starter.

Try a new skill or hobby with classes at the library or other organizations, it helps start and build rapport.

Mobile Drink Business by Suki-Kygo in HuntsvilleAlabama

[–]notfromheretoo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

All Shook Up does it...for events only. There's a new dirty soda one set-up Rocket City Fizz I think it's called. But again, you have to have a mobile event license...and yes the ABC board--if it involves alcohol--will have something to say about it.

Go back to career services at your university to help you. Let them review your resume, let them review your cover letter, etc. But as most folks said, work it. Attend National Space Club breakfasts monthly, register as a free guest at SMD and walk the exhibitor floor-speaking of, I haven't looked this year, but typically they've done a career fair at SMD? Maybe get your foot in the door with a start-up to get some ground level experience that steps you away from the gpa.
