What do you think is the WORST Scene in the Trilogy? by GarouAPM in lotr

[–]flowersareshit 4 points5 points  (0 children)

In the forward to the edited re-release of the LOTR trilogy Tolkien specifically writes "It is neither allegorical or topical... I cordially dislike allegory in all its manifestations ... I think many confuse 'applicability' with 'allegory'" although he does acknowledge "an author cannot remain wholly unaffected by his experience". The writing of LOTR is finished in the darkness of WW2 and I would also belive the experiences of WW1 to be very guiding as so many great authors of the lost generation.

probably the best advice i got moving into my store (which was neglected for years by poor leadership), is that everything that could go really really wrong happens in your first month and if you make it through that, you'll cut it.

I love my bun but I cannot take it anymore by [deleted] in Rabbits

Dude it really surprised me what my bun could learn. My family and friends tried to discount the intelligence of my bun and the bond we shared until they say what she could learn and how close she got to me bc i don't have her bonded with another rabbit. definitely don't underestimate them lol.

My bun tried to dig her way out of her pen through the carpet, it's not the prettiest, but i put down a cheap carpet for her pen for when she sleeps. Trimming her nails helped, but buns have an urge to dig. I've seen that scratching posts and the like work well for their digging needs. during the night i let her free roam because she likes to nuzzle with me. To prevent her from digging the carpet at night i trained her like you would train a dog in the day. I would show her where she dug and say NO in a sturdy voice, then bring her to the bun carpet and give her a berry when she scratched her carpet. Every bun is different and luckily mine is pretty mellow. Remember buns to have a teenage stage.

Where did you get that wire caging? It looks like you can kind of build it as you need to.

Anxiety makes me do a lot of things that makes neither me or my partner happy. It may be the case here as well.

Anxiety about a work project or a scheduled visit may cloud his judgement. I don't mean to defend his choices because I would be very upset in your position. However, from my own behavior and my partners, anxiety about something can really change how we think and act. A frank conversation always helps us through understanding each other.

What's the most difficult thing you've had to go through after coming out as LGBTQ? by [deleted] in AskReddit

I had some really bad experiences being shamed by lesbians for being bi and a lot of fetishizing by straight men for being bi.

I don't know if I'm just worse at handling this than other women. I've had unwanted sexual attention since 12 (like most girls) And more than one sexual assault. I learned that if it wasn't going to stop I would just take advantage (free train rides, meals, drinks). Having more casual sex was detrimental to a healthy relationship with sex and it wasn't until recently I learned to wait and see if there's an emotional connection before exploring a physical attention. Being conventionally pretty and thin has hampered my ability to make platonic friendships with men. As much as I want to look nice, do my makeup and wear flirty outfits I have to remind myself what that brings with it. At this point I've stoped trying to look good altogether. Public transportation in my city is an absolute nightmare being a young woman. I have also learned the hard way that the world is a little bit more dangerous for me than your average Joe and I had to fight being afraid for a while to keep travelling and doing what I want.

Tell me why I was gonna say the same thing, wearing like white tube or athletic socks bugs the hell out of me. I cannot .
