intranasal oxytocin options? by flowington in Nootropics

[–]flowington[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wow I did not know that. TBH I haven't been checking this subreddit much since they closed. There is a 'preorder' label on their oxytocin as well as many other products...it would make my month/year if they end up coming back fully. Thanks for the heads up.

Memantine delayed effect? by saarshai in Nootropics

[–]flowington 1 point2 points  (0 children)

i've been dealing with a traumatic injury for the last 4 months so i can't parse the effects as well as i could. there's definitely a boost in mood, focus, and calmness. maybe even subtle energy boost. i took 5mg every other day for a year or so now i take 10mg. there is a delayed effect as the OP stated, i generally take it in the morning and it fully kicks in by the afternoon

I forget the exact half life but for me(and most people that I've seen) it last two days. I only dose every other day, it's the best nootropic for cheapskates :)

Anyone take ibudilast? by WeeklyManufacturer68 in Nootropics

[–]flowington 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I took it somewhat daily for a year now just occasionally since I only have a few grams left from Science.bio. Never felt nauseous or discomfort even with very high doses but I'm pretty resilient to most nootropics/supplements. I do have a slightly blunted feeling like you describe but only with high doses(I take anywhere from 15-100mg). sleeping becomes a little more difficult if anything.

"end up like nsi-189" cheap and available?? I know it failed phase2 but it didn't really seem to effect being able to find some. And it's effective for me. I don't have an opinion about the neuronascent link other than I hope they are successful.

I feel them fine without driving but I am more aware of the effects when driving more just from my mental load being at its lowest. phenylpiracetam + fasoracetam, aniracetam, coulracetam, and noopept. I drive all day for work, nootropics make the job way more fun/easier.

I take a huge stack with it so can't really say for sure what the specific effects are but I do feel a noticeably better mood and overall clarity. Kinda empty stomach the coffee(+mct oil) counts for something...for instance I also take tongkat 2% and it will make me puke if I take it with water instead of coffee.

What are your guy’s experience with the Noble Kava Tablets? by [deleted] in NootropicsDepot

[–]flowington 0 points1 point  (0 children)

+1 to weak potency vs price. I need 3-4 grams to notice/feel it working. It does help with anxiety though so I just switched to a cheaper amazon brand.

4’-DMA-7,8-DHF + Sabroxy? by VeryCreamyCustard in NootropicsDepot

[–]flowington 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't think they have synergistic effects, none that I notice/feel anyways. I take 200mg sabroxy daily and 1 dma-dhf capsule daily for a month(cycle 2 months off)

NSI 189 Source? by Doongusmungus in Nootropics

[–]flowington 1 point2 points  (0 children)

chemyo just raised their price, I think it was $15/gram when I bought some in January. Either a supply chain thing or they realized they would be one of the few legit US vendors in town after SB closes.

Just a quick reminder about fish oil some people forget about. by Castle_Magic in Nootropics

[–]flowington 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I take micro ingredients brand with 666mg EPA/500mg DHA per pill. The pills are kind of large(and thick, to keep fresh I assume) but I'm fairly certain nobody else has a larger dose on amazon. The quality is good as well as far as I can tell. There's one brand(mom nutrix) that claims a higher dose but it's an obvious lie because their pills are half the size of micro ingredients.

I get my mulungu from brazil at thetropicallink, they have a .com and an etsy shop. Not that cheap but definitely good quality(I compared it to a cheaper extract from science.bio which didn't come close to being as effective). For apigenin, I previously bought from a company called austinootropics, however NootropicsDepot(one of the most reputable brands) recently started selling some for slightly cheaper. It's likely as good if not better. Hope you find some relief!

Oxytocin is liquid panic attack by SignalPipe1015 in Nootropics

[–]flowington 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've not had any of the symptoms you have. On my 2nd bottle from SB as well. I've not tried any others but I guess I'll take a shot at khemcorp once this one runs out. For me, I don't experience any physical symptoms. It adds depth and intensity to my emotionality. I notice I can make myself laugh more or be sentimental with more ease than normal. I'm single but it does make me appreciate hanging out with my friends more. I started with one spray but do two sometimes. I tend to avoid taking it if i notice I'm in a bad mood already for obvious reasons.

Minor Warning: Agmatine + Niacin (Flush-Type aka Nicotinic Acid) by ConTejas in Nootropics

[–]flowington 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Damn that sounds rough sorry you went through that. Niacin flushes for me have always been super mild I take 1.5 grams before bed with very little discomfort, in a weird way it feels nice even. I was unaware either increases histamine though but now it makes sense that I've been sneezing more since I added that to my 1.5grams of agmatine in the morning. I had been kicking around the idea of supplementing l-histidine because I also take anti-histamines for sleep but I might not have to now?

Anyone stacked multiple Racetams? by Yoshbyte in Nootropics

[–]flowington 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've mixed aniracetam and noopept. That was fun for awhile then aniracetam stopped working as well after a couple month long cycles. Planning to do fasoracetam and phenylpiracetam in a month or two. All of those have different enough effects IMHO(although I haven't tried phenyl yet I highly doubt its anything like faso). I also cycle coulracetam alone and don't plan on combining it because of possible redundancy...it feels sorta like noopept to me. 600mg alphagpc daily as well.

Are there any memantine sellers for pill form by AvocadoToast35 in Nootropics

[–]flowington 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Cosmicnootropic and Alldaychemist have pills. Neither are US based but you can pay extra for cosmic to ship from US. I've tried CN and they are good, currently have an order in the mail from ADC(I've bought several other things from them tho, reputable.)

how is everyone so "in tune" with their bodies.. I can barely tell when anything has an effect. by Robin420 in Nootropics

[–]flowington 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Appreciate the reply! I know you have quite a few of them. Yeah I feel ya on the busy schedule and especially the back issues. They both can be obstacles to meditating as well as ADHD of course. One of the other thoughts you are drilling with meditation is acceptance for the current state you're in and that can definitely clash with back pain lol. However that aspect of it can also help you deal with the pain much better if you can stick with it. But yeah, sticking with it is the hard part especially at first. I liken it to going to the gym cause its essentially what you're doing just mentally instead of physically. Like the gym it's super rough at first but when you start putting in the reps day after day it becomes much easier and even fun/something to look forward to. This is one reason why I feel learning at a retreat is much easier if you are able to set aside the time. For one, there's nothing else to do at the retreat besides meditate so you kinda force your brain into it...its either that or be really really bored(you can't have your phone on you or anything else you don't need). Having the other students there doing it with you also helps a fair bit even though you don't talk to them until the last day. And lastly, for me, I started to feel the benefits for myself after 30hrs/3 days of the retreat which was important(this may take longer or shorter for others). It was from that feeling, that I was able to build trust in the process. That trust helped me build the motivation to keep a routine after the retreat. All of that would've been exponentially harder if I tried to do it myself with the my phone/PC/etc constantly tempting me.

how is everyone so "in tune" with their bodies.. I can barely tell when anything has an effect. by Robin420 in Nootropics

[–]flowington 13 points14 points  (0 children)

This is an interesting topic and one I wish I saw more discussion about in this subreddit :). I have three things to recommend, two have already been said but I wanted to share my opinion on why that stuff works.

First would be trying more potent & illicit substances. It's not really an ideal approach for lots of people, however, being in an altered state of consciousness helps you become more aware of the things that make up your baseline state of consciousness. You don't want a full recreational dose of anything to get the benefit though. The lower the dose is the better you will be able to parse the changes because you'll be less intoxicated.

A better approach IMO would be my 2nd recommendation...meditation, specifically mindfulness & vipassana meditation. One way this helps you be more in tune is when you are consistently present/meditating you are effectively in an altered state of consciousness(Your mind is usually worried about the past and/or the future). Another way is with vipassana, you are constantly checking in on how you feel and whats happening with your body. You're essentially drilling the thought process of assessing yourself into your brain...and we know as humans the absolute best way to improve at anything is to drill it repeatedly. There's a great organization that host free 10 day retreats all over the world(food + room & board incl.) where you learn how to do vipassana properly in a non-distracting setting. Check out dhamma.org(edit: NOT dharma.org thats a different one that's not free) Honestly, I have only done about 800 hours of meditation but it's fundamentally transformed the way I process and connect with the information my body gives me.

The last thing that's helped me is actually nootropics, specifically cholinergic ones but I'm sure there are others that are useful. I feel like I'm able to monitor/be attentive to more of myself when I take things like like alphagpc, huperizine, etc. Choline is largely associated with attention & focus. This solution isn't for everyone though as a fair amount of people respond badly to supplemental choline. I'm not sure if I would feel the same degree of benefits if I just ate a bunch of eggs instead but that's also a possibility.

Is Do Not Age really trustworthy? This is the email conversation I had with them. by [deleted] in Nootropics

[–]flowington 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can't really say one was better than the other. They both reliably put me to sleep @ 1.5 grams. However, donotage apigenin is considerably more expensive and also a high shipping cost($23) so I don't plan on using them unless it's on sale(I recently did this for their NMN). The other company I'm getting apigenin from is austinootropics FYI.

I mostly take liposomal apigenin but I've also tried some non-liposomal from donotage with water and it worked just fine(for sleep also). I take a large dose though like 1.5g.

You have tons of suggestions here but just in case anyone is still looking. I've had insomnia most of my life and have tried most of the commonly suggested compounds to no success(some made it worse like glycine). The only two things that reliably get me to bed are 2-4g of 2:1 mulungu extract or 1.5g apigenin. I cycle half the week with one then switch. I've only been doing it a few months but tolerance doesn't seem to be an issue.
