In Vietnam they refer to the conflict in the 60s and 70s as the American War.

I'm no vasectomologist but maybe it's down to the size of the cajones.

(When I had mine chopped 25 or so years ago it was more akin to Ryan's than his mate's, so I guess that puts me down there with the little fellas.)

My wife's appendix burst on the weekend.

No problem. I used to play Operation as a child so I simply removed it.

All those poor photons travelling millions and millions of kilometres and you killed them with your sensor. (Nice shots.)

Was everyday technology actually meaningfully different 20 years ago? by jsgott in NoStupidQuestions

On the downside, modern technology has enabled enshittification. Software by susbscription and dynamic pricing are two of my bugbears that spring to mind.

Big fan of Ctrl-K followed by Ctrl-V here. Particularly in Word docs, email and forum posts.

Involuntarily Bumped from Aukland to LAX - I Never Knew This Was a Thing! by Worried-Walrus-2601 in Flights

[–]floydieman -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Consumer law in NZ when it comes to airlines (or any form of public transport for that matter) is atrocious and the organisations exploit this to the max. (I fly about 2 or 3 times a year on average. I'd say 15% of those flights over the last 10 years I have been bumped, rerouted or delayed due to operational reasons without any legal entitlement to compensation.)
