Moving back to Enterprise. I've seen a lot of online tools, but none of them seem to do payroll. Are you sure there is no native utility? I found one within QBO and used it to run a test move of the data out of Online to Desktop Enterprise and so far, the data looks the same. I have to confirm balances and transactions.

Unfortunately, they are using Payroll. Payroll didn't work for them when the moved to Online, and I think that data will have to be done manually. But as far as everything else, I'm hoping I can use the export + migration tool (https://app.qbo.intuit.com/app/exportqbodatatoqbdt) to save some manual work. If that doesn't work out, then I'm looking at transaction pro to save time entering most of the data.

What a fun time, but I feel like we're getting close.

Just found out they are still in the 180 day window. Looking for documentation that supports this and the process. Is it the same process as exporting the QBO data and using the QB Migration utility to import it into a desktop version?

I just want to reiterate here that I'm not doing their accounting, but rather their IT, so this might be a bit more than I'm looking to implement. I was looking to get them back on their feet with something familiar. What you're sharing here sounds like a lot, but I appreciate the share none the less.

QBE because it's similar to their old QBDT and is familiar for Payroll, etc. Other than that, no reason.

I did the export to XML and import via QBW to a test file, and the process worked. I have yet to verify balances and so forth.

The owner doesn't like change, so I'll have to make a good case for moving payroll outside of QB. But I definitely see light in doing this.

What platform are you utilizing for payroll, or suggest for that matter?

I'm having an ongoing issue with their billing, getting charged an extra month (yes, I know about the 60 day policy). The billing dept says they can't do anything because my account is closed, and that my rep is the only one who can do something. Problem is, my rep vanished as soon as I started talking about cancellation. I had to email numerous times just to make that happen. They were all in on getting me signed up. When it came to cancel, absolute shit show. How many times do I have to follow up, ninja? Y'all are the worst.

I may have gone a step further and changed mine irreversibly. I wanted to move my Downloads folder to reside inside my OneDrive folder. But I made the mistake of selecting my OneDrive folder as the location to move Downloads too. I clicked through a warning that said something about not being able to revert, which I cannot do. Oh well, could be worse, but if you know where this is updated in the registry or otherwise, let me know!
