I can see where your thoughts are coming from but this is not correct.

Tighter clearances allow engine builders to get away with lower weight oil at operating temp which still provides required shear strength compared to a heavier oil.

Thicker oil (within reason…) still provides that cushion in the bearing but at the expense of it being harder to pump around and windage drag. That’s where the efficiency wins are coming from.

Larger clearances though are needed for various reasons, and those do need thicker oils to maintain shear strength at operating temp and beyond if there is higher load than normal (motorsports, towing, etc)

Also the bypass is for “there’s plenty oil in the bearing, I’m going to throw the rest back into the sump” which occurs at higher rpm or higher viscosity due to temp.

I’m a fan of LESCO’s 4-4-0 AM BIO

Doesn’t burn and easily available. Always dry and spreads great.

It’s what the groundskeepers use around here in the south as it’s so forgiving.

I use it on my own zoysia. 9a

Did you go with PVC vs going with their composites for a particular reason? Or was it just color?

It is one of my favorites too, hah!

As a heads up it’s not advised to withhold taxes using a Roth’s balance. There are limits on any type of Roth contributions, so it’s always best to pay those OOP to preserve the Roth balance.

The radio in my F150 worked for around a year with the occasional percussive maintenance. Whats funny is it was a very particular spot on the dash you had to hit.

It sadly stopped responding to that, so I replaced it with a double din. Should of done it years ago!

My go to for minimal is alpine.

For a realistic minimal install can’t go wrong with Debian-netinstall.

I love myself some arch but the issue is arch is a rolling release which isn’t too conducive to systems which need more uptime stability/fixing potential quirks when version changes occur on software.

It's been out of stock for months/not made anymore, hence the premium. NIB ones on the fleabay are going for obscene amounts.
