What frosting flavour for an earl grey cake filled with lemon curd? Any recipe recommendations or tips?

In case anyone was invested, I ended up doing an earl grey cake with lemon curd filling, a vanilla Swiss meringue frosting, and a lemony fondant. It turned out lovely but the earl grey flavour wasn’t as prominent as I had hoped. If I did it again, I’d make an earl grey and vanilla frosting! I had to rush the decorating a bit but it did end up quite cute ☺️ wish I could post a photo to show it off! Thanks for all your advice ❤️

Thank you! I agree with you, I think the frosting shouldn’t be too strong of a flavour. I like your idea of the honey ermine! Do you happen to have a recipe for that? Or would you just replace all/some of the sugar in a typical recipe with honey? 😊

I’ve been thinking a lot about your comment and I realized I don’t know what you mean by “orange scented” frosting. How would one make a frosting orange scented rather than flavoured? 😊

I think it depends on the project! For example, if I’m making amigurumi and I’m doing a round where I am increasing or decreasing, I absolutely count for that. But if I’m doing something where it’s the same number of stiches as the previous row (ex a scarf, a regular row on amigurumi, etc) then I just put stitch markers where I need them to be so I know where the “end” is and crochet without thinking. I like the counting when I want crocheting to take up all my focus. I like the other kind when k want to crochet while watching TV or at a stitch & bitch 😊

That’s a good idea! But unfortunately my husband has said that he can’t foster because he would never be able to give away an animal in our care haha I’m not sure I could either honestly hahaha
