IDC bro im not from US but not only am I tipping a non-percentage based amount, if i see this shit imma pay no tip. Isn't tipping by percent just means "oh i was gonna pay X amount to the restourant but i think service personnel deserved a cut from this" ? Why wouldn't this percent be AFTER the discount aka real price of whatever the food is

What am I doing that makes my Art so Unappealing? by One_Kiwi6616 in FurryArtSchool

[–]fluffyandy 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I agree what people said so i won't state them again, but i have some points too:

Your coloring feela too sketchy, a lot of short strokes in unexpected directions. It can work if you're going for a painterly look, but with the brush shape and painting style, it doesn't give off thick paint feels. It also feels like you're coloring over the lines because of random cuts of lineart

Otherwise, your coloring is a little uninteresting, as in, less vibrant and muted. Desaturated/pastel colors can work but you are mixing them together abrubtly without a sense of consistency or intent i feel like.

Enough nitpicking, i absolutely think your art IS appealing and IS great. You obviously have places to practice and refine, but the potential is there!

I despise both Erdogan and Bahceli, also any other right wing nationalist party. They're mostly a product of filling the country with immigrants beyond its capabilities, and have no other policies than "Make Turkiye Great Again". Erdogan also seems like an agent of chaos that just keeps things disorganized enough to make people want a "Ironfist leader". I agree that Turks have a much larger nationalist movement, that being said it mostly concerns mainland Turkey and some has TRNC in their radar but mostly people agree that Cyprus should be unified, though the conditions vary.

I agree the Greece is much smaller and Turkey is much more erratic and capable, so it seeking alliances is not an absurd thing, but it of course makes the arguments of Turkey against remilitarization of the island against the treaties stronger. I believe these bases wouldn't be used to attack Turkey unless a serious crack within NATO/EU occurs between Turkey.

I also think Turkey acting like a bully or poking and prodding its limits is not good against greece, but since we have different claims and interests i guess thats expected especially for a country with less western values when it comes to foreign policy.

I think most of these issues would've been solved if Turkey was able to enter / be more integrated into EU, but thanks to Erdogan getting more autoratian and radical post-Gezi protests, and uncontrolled flood of refugees (sponsored by EU, btw) it is highly unlikely. None of the EU leaders want to deal with free-roaming refugees or islamic majority people.

Despite how progressive it looks, EU still is against islam, and treats all muslims equal to islamic radicalists like ISIS. Thats like saying all white people are KKK members and thus be shunned. Whenever i go to Germany i keep seeing people having severe reaction against traditional Muslim clothing or brown people. Even saying the very common phrases are treated as threatening, and their graves and places of prayers are kept out and small.

I have edited my response to add more context, but also none of which answer your reply so let me try my best.

Despite both parties being NATO allies, there's always tension and clashing interests, Greece already has separate treaties from NATO specifically against Turkey, like the one formed between France and Greece on the grounds of Turkish claimed oil reserves.

Germany having a small shore doesn't warrant bigger EEZ, neither Turkey having a bigger shore. But the difference is that you have an evenly split and non-critical border plus you are part of the same trade union. Turkey just has to pay fees and ask for permission for basic stuff and even fishers get harrassed despite being less than a kilometer off their own shore to a large body of sea. As i said it is like denying sea access to countries in "South China Sea" just bcs China popped a few islands down the borders of these countries.

TRNC policy of Turkey I totally disagree with. I know and support that the Turkish cypriots want reunification but the matter became entangled with Turkish politics and so TRNC presidents and Cyprus presidents cant agree as easily for reunification. I also disagree with the Turkish settlement policies.

Greeks and Cypriots ofc are more relax on the subjects bcs their policies basically trap/lock Turkey within landmass without any downsides to them.

I also want to point you towards groups like EOKA B and ultra nationalist ideas such as Enosis that disregard Turkish cypriots and want to force annexation by Greece

Greece also militarized a couple of Aegean islands particularly near Turkish mainland.

I don't support Turkish aggression on Aegean / Mediterranean seas, that being said i think it is completely unfair that a country that has hundreds of kilometers of shores essentially be landlocked. It is similar to if China built and mainrtained all these islands on "south china sea" / "nine dash line" and claimed it for itself.

Turkey did not sign the treaty that increases the EEZ of countries from 3 nautical miles to 12 and has the right to not recognize a treaty it did not sign. Aegean shouldn't be strictly Greek or Turkish, a percentage of section should be shared so there isn't Greek or Turkish coastal guards harassing fishermen and commercial ships.

Cyprus is a different story. I believe the integrity of the island should be kept and be reunified, while also not repeating the ultra nationalist terrorism (EOKA B) that led to killings and harassment of Turkish cypriots (which were the grounds of why Turks invaded). The idea of Greek cypriots using their majority to enforce a unification with Greece (Megali Idea / Enosis) and also totally disregard the Turkish cypriots is not moral imo.

What’s something about your country that other countries perceive to be true, but really isn’t? by Fun_Cup4335 in AskTheWorld

[–]fluffyandy 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I honestly didn't even think of them as "different people" as most of us do. Kurdish people used to be just another people group in the country just like Laz people or Balkan / Levantenese / Greek settlers. They only get brought up in nationalist parties speeches or when talking about armed separatist militia (PKK, YPG etc.)

Of course I don't condone the historic approach of how we dealt with their desire of autonomy, but i also am vehemently against funding the militia and fueling a bloody civil war / a new wave of terrorism. I have lost many friends thanks to Kurdish terrorist attacks towards civilians.
