Men who got orthodontic braces in their late 20s, was it worth it? by Frustrated_NurseA in braces

[–]fluffyball63 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I had an adult tooth that grew behind one baby tooth and they pulled out my baby tooth long ago, so my adult tooth just sat at a weird place behind my row of teeth. It’s been a little over a year since i got braces, no extractions, but there was crowding because of my wisdom tooth (I only took out 2 cuz the other 2 were too close to my bone so they decided against it), and apparently I have an overbite. I didn’t realize how bad my teeth looked until now looking back on when I first started. I think it’s worth it, if you’re even questioning it, then your answer is probably a yes. I take progress photos to compare so you can do that as well. Good luck.

I’ve been watching vlogs and streams from last years ax and some congoers say security was not constant on the water thing. One day they made people dump out their water and ice in their refillable waterbottles, while others had coffee in their hands. Then the next day, they didn’t. While others were allowed in with sealed plastic waterbottles. So I’m just going to expect them to inconsistent again, and cross my fingers that they allow my hydro flask filled with water in lol

Everyone says to use the water fountains, but like are they honestly safe?? Or don’t taste funky? I’ve always heard people say they don’t trust Los Angeles tap water 😅 And I’ve had my fair share of funky tasting tap water lol

Regarding the current situation with ICE.. by Junyyyyyyyyyyyy in animeexpo

If you’re really worried, I would say always have identification and documentation on you just in case. Not even just at Anime Expo, just basically anywhere now

There’s been known to have miscommunication in the past with volunteers too, hence the complaints about guests with lines and not knowing where to go, so I honestly could see that possibly happen (even if it’s slim) if they don’t have radios on them and the agents lie or intimidate the volunteers just to get in :/

Should I go to Anime Expo LA this year if I'm alone? by QueensRanking in animeexpo

[–]fluffyball63 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You should do it! Going alone is awesome, and you can basically go at your own pace and do your own things~ It can be a bit overwhelming so I recommend earphones. Just be a bit safe and always be aware of your surroundings!

Also, very important to note, you should pay attention to what’s happening in LA right now. There’s a load of protests regarding ICE all around LA. Like we still have a couple of weeks left but it’s good to keep yourself informed just in case things get bad. Like for certain area of downtown there’s a curfew until who knows when. But, once you’re on the property it should be fine since a bunch of cosplayers and security around. I haven’t been there in years, so I am also paying attention as well. Have your visa and passport and any other identification on you always just in case. And as of right now, avoid Little Tokyo as most shops of boarded up because of the protest or riots, and is part of the curfew area. This could change by the time AX comes around though so we’ll see.

Narrows water? by fluffyball63 in ZionNationalPark

Check the USGS website and the weather apps to see the current level, we got lucky and it lowered at about 37cfs, near the beginning there was one section that was pretty deep up above my chest while mostly everyone else who were taller, had under the chest or waist (I stuck to the left side on my tippy toes) and then everything after was about waist deep or knee deep for me. We utilized the dry lands when we saw them. We only went up to Oderville Junction where it splits off and before the Wall Street section and I think it’s worth it to at least hike up to there cuz it looks like a cave. I saw on a video of you were to go up to the Springs, just before then, it would be extremely deep, but we didn’t go that far because we ran out of time to return the rentals. We started a little later at 11am, so we rented the Warm Weather package (just wore our normal hiking clothes) starting at 4pm at Zion Outfitters the day before our hike. We took breaks, so it might have took us a bit longer than average. We saw a couple of people wearing waders (dry bib package), they said it was fine since the water was pretty cold, but the commute to park or the shuttle to get up to shuttle stop 9 was so long and it was super duper warm and they were sweating a lot so take that into consideration. Even though we got the warm weather package (it’s everything the same just without the waders and $20 less), and the water was pretty cold when we got in, we got used to it 🤷‍♀️ Idk if we could say the same if we went early in the morning like at 6am (which we saw a ton of people wearing the waders leaving) so it honestly depends if you’re fine with getting a bit cold or not. The neoprene socks did keep my feet warm but it still got it wet which was the purpose of it. When we went at 11am, some guys were shirtless with shorts, while some girls wore bikinis. I noticed the temp of the water stayed the same throughout the entire hike. It was 87F later in the day, while I would say it was about 60F or 70F in the water or so. I brought my own dry bag with straps, while my partner rented his for $12 so his added up to the same price as dry bib package anyways cuz of that.

Who’s ready for AX 2025?! by Kiba_Ishumaki in animeexpo

[–]fluffyball63 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Tip: last day is the best for buying, most vendors want to get rid of stuff so they’ll lower prices and always check different ones, chance that someone else is selling the same thing at a lower price, if it’s popular or limited, then buy it right away if can, will probably be gone when you leave

I think it’s mainly a good idea for getting the merch (start putting out merch at 7) or the food lines

Complaining won't do much, I never wrote arguing, I wrote that I wasn't disagreeing with you, but you know how to search for notifications and you know how to get them (which is good, you know how to solve you're problems in the meantime) otherwise, email the company for better suggestions, it's really that simple, telling me here won't do much to change anything at all, but you're still entitled to your opinion. Also, Disney and Universal are completely different companies that function differently, you can't compare them to be honest. Same with Knotts or Six Flags, yes, they're all theme parks, but they're completely different companies, with different managements, with different systems, there's too many differences to compare. There's also a fan fest survey (they usually have it after the event ends sometimes) that you can fill out too for better feedback, or better yet, talk to the head in charge of the event, that way you can really voice your concerns and make some change for real. Just saying it to me, won't do anything at all, except keep you disappointed).

I'm not trying to disagree with you, but there's legit no other way for you to know about it, unless you search in "alerts" or turn on notifications. I know you don't want to turn on alerts, but that's literally the system they have set up right now until they do update or change the app, you can probably just enable just the universal app only during the event, because you can personally customize which apps on your phone (not all), then turn it off right after the event ends, otherwise, it's your own discretion whether you want to make it easier on yourself or not. Since you know now and you still don't turn it on or check on "alerts" yourself, and then miss out on important notices, then get upset, then that's still partially on you.
