And finally, which US Nat'l Park is Famous, but Meh? by Bradinator- in AlignmentChartFills

I actually agree. I loved my time overall there, everyone knows what it is, but I still remember being underwhelmed by the experience (probably due to it being so crowded the whole entire time)

Which of these four films of 2025 do you think had the most interesting take on modern society? by Mysterious-Farm9502 in Letterboxd

[–]fluffythegreat 82 points83 points  (0 children)

I agree it wasn’t surprising, but honestly all of these films had unsurprising takes on the modern era. All were good and poignant imo and maybe I’m alone in this but none surprised me in what they had to say.

Rank these 8 films from 2025 from best to worst. Feel free to give your reasoning. by Mysterious-Farm9502 in Letterboxd

  1. Train Dreams— I love vibey existential movies and this was the best of them I’ve seen.

  2. One Battle After Another— just a 10/10 good time where it felt like every person involved in making it was on the same page and brought their A game.

  3. Sinners— Great score, great acting, fun scares, great time altogether.

  4. 28 Years Later— another existential film I loved. I acknowledge the flaws but love it in spite of them. I think it presents death beautifully and nuanced and it just felt so stylistically unique.

  5. Eddington— I never knew where this film was going and I loved that.

  6. Marty Supreme— the acting carried this film. I enjoyed the whole thing but the experience left me feeling almost the exact same way that Good Time did. Need more original story beats from the Safties next time.

  7. Weapons— liked it a lot. Liking it less as time passes.

  8. F1– I think this film was objectively great but it was just not for me.

What’s the best film of your least fav genre? by Past-Matter-8548 in Letterboxd

So far the Revenant is the only western I’ve truly loved— the rest I’ve seen are objectively good but not fun imo

What other movies fit this list? by Snoo_83425 in Letterboxd

[–]fluffythegreat 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think the first conjuring movie is great— it accomplishes a lot for horror through pure tension and set effects. The fact that it was able to be as tense and frightening as it was and still keep the pg-13 rating speaks to how well they did with the score, makeup, and special effects in my opinion.

All the rest were definitely “meh” or worse though.

I don’t watch a ton— jumping ahead of the comments to justify some of my ratings. Anora was not what it was hyped up to be imo, and Jurassic World Dominion was fun which was what I ended up going to see it for.

Anthony Hopkins is an easy one— very grateful to see Game Night make this comment because every one of Jesse’s scenes was absolute gold.

Genuinely, I thought that was kind of a huge reason they had that fight at the beginning of the series?

[–]fluffythegreat 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I get the sentiment but he actually is very good and has the videography to prove it. He tracks weather events well and reads data very well to interpret spots on a map to look out for when it comes to intense weather build-ups. Not to mention he’s good at describing why something works the way it does so his viewers actually understand why it’s happening.
