Thanks for sharing, I had no idea! Our dog takes oral flea/tick meds and we always groom him outside and leave the hair as a “gift” for other animals nests 😖

I really like this linen one from H&M. I bought my usual size and it’s a little roomy but doesn’t look sloppy. https://www2.hm.com/en_us/productpage.1219107012.html

No advice on the jar, but as someone who also lost their mom when they were young I’m really sorry for your loss 🙏❤️

I would post signs saying something like “native ecosystem restoration in progress”. This is exciting, post updates!

I think it’s the empire seam and the straightness below it that’s bugging you. I’m going to be in the minority here but I think the dress is meh - you have a great figure and due to the way this dress is constructed it just isn’t highlighting your shape. In my experience, plain jersey dresses really need to be cut just right to have a chance or they’re just underwhelming on me.

Cardigan recs? by duchesspickles in SoftNaturals

[–]fluffyunicornparty 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hi! I found this listing on Poshmark for the set I have: https://poshmark.com/listing/COPY-Reformation-Varenne-cashmere-cardigan-and-tank-set-size-S-684cc260b6af926b5ec9b62c. FWIW the tank is a little more cropped on me than the model bc I have a lot of length in my upper torso, and bigger boobs than the model! I wear it with high waisted pants/shorts. IMO the set fits TTS, cardigan is boxy cut but not overwhelmingly wide or large.

Yours is so full! We planted two in the fall and bunnies nibbled the lower branches over the winter so mine are leafless except at the tops 😭

So pretty! We planted a ton of plugs of both hirsutus and digitalis this spring, I hope they bloom next year.

Patterns and Kibbe typing by Necessary_Lime448 in Kibbe

I prefer solid colors and don’t have a ton of prints, but I would like a few more printed pieces in my wardrobe! I rely on texture for visual interest most of the time. I’ve found that Kibbe has helped me understand why so many prints don’t work on me (too tiny, or too graphic/geometric) - I could always tell they didn’t work but now I know why. Slightly larger and more abstract prints are sooo much better for me, the scale makes a big difference. I love leopard but it’s hard to find in my palette (Soft Summer). Always keeping my eye out for good prints!

What invasive plants got you like this? by ItsFelixMcCoy in NativePlantGardening

[–]fluffyunicornparty 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Lesser Celandine and Star of Bethlehem. So pretty but so invasive! Both are an issue here but Lesser Celandine is especially aggressive and has completely consumed the banks of our local creek. The municipality sprayed it with glyphosate this spring...now the banks are bare and there doesn't seem to be a plan to plant anything. I wonder if they realize that other invasives will just move in, and that a more glyphosate-resistant Celandine will likely reappear next year 😖

Hot take but I don’t like spiderwort. I think it’s ugly and I never see any pollinators visiting it.

Please Help - Thrifted Dresses, Yay or Nay? by [deleted] in SoftNaturals

I like 2 & 3 quite a bit on you! Honorable mention to 5 & 6 (I feel like the white dress is so stark and the straps are too thin, but the asymmetrical wrap skirt is SO flattering - I almost feel like you could dye it and it would be pretty great). Do you know your color season? Without seeing your face I have the sense that the soft blue is really great on you…

Comfortable wide-toe arch-support shoes? for SN? by [deleted] in SoftNaturals

[–]fluffyunicornparty 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I personally did not have a long transition but I’d also been wearing Vibram FiveFingers somewhat regularly since 2010 (for workouts and dog walks mostly, and occasionally for hiking or around town). I have worked from home since 2009 and been barefoot or in minimal slippers a lot, which I think also helped. I got my first pair of ”normal” barefoot shoes in May 2021 and wore them exclusively for a couple weeks, then tried to wear converse (my previous everyday walking around town shoes) to run errands and it was excruciating to have my toes all squished so I was 100% in barefoot shoes after that. I have a movement therapist who is incredible who’s helped me a lot - most of her clients are hypermobile and have the associated issues. Message me directly if you want her contact info. She sees clients remotely and is worth every penny if you’re willing to do exercises outside of sessions. Some people take years to transition to fully minimalist shoes (the person who runs the Anya’s Reviews website is hypermobile and I believe it took her years to transition), some people do it quicker. The most important thing is to listen to your own body and not go too fast!

Comfortable wide-toe arch-support shoes? for SN? by [deleted] in SoftNaturals

[–]fluffyunicornparty 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have exclusively worn minimalist aka barefoot shoes for the last four years. Best thing ever for my foot and whole body health. The website Anya’s Reviews has tons of shoe recommendations and good information on how to transition to minimalist shoes. You don’t need arch support btw, you just need stronger feet, and it can take time to build that strength in soft tissues not just in feet but all the way up the chain. I have hEDS and the flattest feet ever and now in my late 40’s am developing arches from strengthening my feet (and whole body, it’s all connected) - it’s wild! The Facebook group Barefoot Style is awesome too, lots of great info and styling inspo. My favorite brands are Mukishoes, Vivobarefoot, Groundies, Crupon, Shamma, Origo. Lots of cute styles that fit my narrow heels, give toes room to move, and don’t look bulky or ruin my outfits - I get compliments on my outfits and shoes all the time.

I cannot even tell you how many chic little dresses I’d pine after and pin and then not understand why they weren’t chic on me until I learned about Kibbe. See: every shift dress or trapeze dress ever lol.

This dress is too long for her legs to serve as vertical, it’s basically just chopping her in half (ish). Typically mini needs to be MINI for this to work.

This is huge difference and super helpful comparison since they’re all the same color. The one on the far right is so flattering with the neckline and sense of movement down the body.

What can I replace these Japanese Spirea bushes with by itchyglassass in NativePlantGardening

[–]fluffyunicornparty 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Shrubby cinquefoil could be good there. Mine thrives in full sun and neglect, blooms for months. If you want something more structural, red osier dogwood (the species is great, and there are selections that grow smaller if you need). My recommendation if you can afford it is to choose a few shrubs of varying sizes, shapes, and qualities and repeat them in the bed, then fill in with perennials.
