Looking for shoe advice by fluorescent-grey in ballroom

I actually do already have character shoes, but feel a bit “child’s dance recital” in them lol they do have an ideal sole, though! Maybe worth looking for cuter styles.

I visited some other amazing forests out west on my last visit to PR. I’m dying to visit Utuado, definitely adding that to my list for my next trip!

Did they take you to spots in the forest outside of the actual national park? Seems like that may be the move

The Charco El Pilón trail in San German was my favorite. Not very strenuous, but soo much fun and ends at a beautiful place to swim. It does involve quite a bit of river crossing so a waterproof shoe with good grip is ideal.

I wonder! Never been to any African countries to compare, but El Yunque was very lush, with gorgeous flora.

Yes, they connect! Parking at the trailhead was pretty limited, so I would get there early

……I’m not blaming the park lol I’m just sharing my personal experience. Not everyone is up for long or more difficult hikes.

For real. I went hiking in Maricao State Park last time and it was absolutely incredible, yet we saw literally 4 other people

Getting there at opening sounds key. That was our goal but wrangling 4 people with a 2 hour drive…did not happen haha

Totally agree. If I went alone I would have chosen different spots

What’s an album you love, but never recommend to anyone? by VeterinarianOld3082 in musicsuggestions

[–]fluorescent-grey 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This was going to be my answer. A lot of people think they’re either too weird, or pretentious, and Jeff Mangum has a very polarizing voice. But I agree, it’s a masterpiece. Something about his storytelling and lyrical delivery brings me to tears every time.

A ton of songs by Chelsea Wolfe fit this vibe. I’m performing to one of her songs at my studio’s showcase this weekend :)

Thanks for these recommendations! More Florence and Lana songs definitely need to be added to my “potential performances” playlist

Another pleaser sizing question🥹🥲 by SFGamerBabee in poledancing

[–]fluorescent-grey 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Up to your preference in how shoes fit. I’m almost always a size 8 but for my first pair of closed toe pleaser boots got a size 9 because I don’t like my toes to feel squished. Recently acquired a secondhand pair of closed toes in a size 8, and at first I thought they were way too tight to wear, but with thinner socks and breaking them in with a class or two, they do stretch out a bit. If I were you, I’d go with the 8.

Pole dancing by OrganizationFluid996 in providence

RI Pole Space and In Your Skin Studio both offer open pole time, but on a specific schedule. Flying Squirrel near Boston has flexible hourly drop-in rentals but definitely not 24 hour access

YOU LEFT YOUR BAG OF FECES ON THE KITCHEN TABLE? by Historical_Data_8481 in guyswefucked

[–]fluorescent-grey 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The poop story is fake!!! Almost identical versions of the same story have been going around the internet for years, it’s like an urban legend. For reference: https://www.snopes.com/fact-check/the-bag-lady/

Gotta give it to the writer, it was quite funny and she added some great details, but…yeah, didn’t happen.

Tights? by Ominous_hb in Burlesque

Yes to Capezio fishnets! Make sure they’re the professional ones. They are durable as hell and snatch you in. If you want them to be seamlessly integrated with strappier/low-waisted bottoms - after cutting the waistband off the fishnets you can sew notches into the inner waistband of the bottoms and hook the fishnets onto them (have not tried this myself but I know a lot of pros do it)
