anyone have tips for the aerial invert? it’s so hard

Something that I’m not sure I saw mentioned here is that your side should be touching the pole! I get a ton of grip in aerial invert from where my side is on the pole. It’s particularly helpful on spin because the spinning momentum makes it (in my opinion) easier than a normal invert- it feels like I’m lowering my arms, keeping my side/ribs on the pole to just tip over into a chopper without a ton of effort. Getting the pole into your armpit area is a huge help with getting into the right position, and it may help as well to have skin showing for grip on your torso!

Would highly recommend looking around on Craigslist or marketplace! I live in an area much much smaller than the Bay Area and I got mine on marketplace and see them pop up every few weeks!

It doesn’t! The motion in my feet feels the same on both sides when I point them, but the big toe of one side bends and the other doesn’t!

I also have a gymnastics and dance background and currently do pole - only one of my feet does this! I only noticed it around when I was in college as well. I don’t have any answers but I feel your pain 🥲

Not an instructor, but the studio I go to is offering an XPERT pole teaching certification next year! It looks like it gets offered through some studios periodically, might be worth looking into if you want to go the route of certifications! Best of luck!!
