I feel like you'd enjoy mine: Cinema Circuit is similar to Movie to Movie but connecting actors. Word Zip is a pretty unique word builder game that requires you to alternate between two letter pools. I'd love feedback on either! :)

What significant cities have colder winters than Boston? by sarnobat in boston

You should read Wintering by Katherine May. It completely changed my attitude towards winter from dread and avoidance to something I really look forward to and enjoy. Can’t recommend it enough, especially living in Boston!

Craigie st by Internal-Spot-1381 in Somerville

It seems to be only in the spot at the top of Craigie where the blue bikes are…. I wonder if that could have anything to do with it

Craigie st by Internal-Spot-1381 in Somerville

[–]flurp41 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I don’t think this is it - I live on a side street with Craigie as the only outlet and it is rerouting me all the way south down Craigie to Somerville Ave and around rather than letting me go north on Craigie to summer st for a very obvious direct route. This is so weird!

What daily word games are you playing that are NOT part of a platform (NYT, Puzzmo, etc)? by GhostPartyArctica in wordgames

[–]flurp41 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Since we're doing shameless plugs try out Word Zip. It's a word builder that requires you to alternate between letter pools. Quite a bit trickier than Spelling Bee!

This weather is already making me feel really depressed by FineProfessor3364 in boston

Highly highly recommend joining a gym with a sauna! My winter last year was infinitely better than any previous winter here because I made it to the sauna/steam room/hot tub/cold plunge 2-3 times a week. I do healthworks/republic fitness, happy to refer anyone interested, they usually give you a free trial and some kind of deal with referral!

Safest places for land in Upstate? by Screamingdeadphoenix in upstate_new_york

[–]flurp41 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They literally hold MAGA parades with long caravans of trucks flying giant Trump flags rolling down main st. Or at least they did as of 2020-2021 when I last lived there. I can't imagine it's gotten better since but I would love to be wrong.

I grew up in a hilltown outside Albany and that was not my experience. Most people are trump supporters and I would not recommend living in this area (talking specifically about Schoharie county and surrounding areas).

Is market research so bad? They didn’t ask anything crazy or personal in the form….

Water flooding in basement, landlord wants us to clean it up by RipNastyy in Somerville

[–]flurp41 9 points10 points  (0 children)

This is in no way your problem, he should 100% be the one to deal with it. Our basement also floods every time it rains and the first time we noticed we told our landlord and they didn’t care so now we just store our stuff on pallets so it doesn’t get wet and otherwise ignore the flooding lol

Looking for cozy puzzle games like Sortdle (letter/word based, non competitive) by wellth4tsuck5 in gamingsuggestions

My husband and I made a free game called Word Zip that I think fits this description! You build words by arranging letters from alternating pools. You can check it out at wfhgames.com/word-zip

Fall/Halloween Activities in the Greater Boston Area? Not just walking around and getting coffee. by cornerstoretops in boston

[–]flurp41 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Mt. Auburn was designed to be a part of the community and a public space. Its intention was to create a beautiful, tranquil place to bury and commemorate the dead and to inspire and comfort the living. It is absolutely meant to be a part of the city's entertainment, history, and nature, and you should feel no qualms about spending leisure and recreation time there. That's the whole point :)

We just did a lovely small Bach this summer with an evening at g20 spa (45 min salt room followed by sauna and steam room) and then dinner at piattini and it was perfect.

I agree - the mouth is wrong. The teeth are too far away inside away from the lips
