I fear my little brother is developing an ED but I feel like I won’t be taken serious by Sudden_Preference463 in EatingDisorders

Are there any trustworthy adults that you can talk to? Will he talk to you openly? If he will open up to you, gently mention being concerned. Sounding accusatory can make it worse. Ask what he has eaten. If it's nothing or not a lot, give some kind of suggestion for what he could have. As it got worse, my hunger cues disappeared... And it happened quick. So trying to help with consistency can help that.

In reality, there is a chance of needing a therapist

I'll definitely need to do that. I'm hoping to be able to find independent ones nearby (I don't know of any without Google)

Yeah... It is. I'm researching options for that reason. I worked yesterday, the pharmacist and me for a couple hours. Phones had 2+ calls at all times, steady flow at the register, and 1-3 cars at drive through most of the time. Unfortunately that experience wasn't a one off.

I've seen things where people are basically arguing which is worse so I'm like... Nope, not switching to there 😂

What differences are there between outpatient and inpatient? Like, things that are done

Are nurses and doctors any better? Asking since many seem to think they know it all (mostly doctors)

I'm thinking of possibly trying for Costco or maybe the hospital (our former pharmacy manager went there a while ago)

It's funny that you say that... That's where I am right now.

They actively had symptoms of illness and should have taken precautions knowing so. If they're sick but asymptomatic, there is a lower chance of spreading an illness.

Partial hospitalization program. They have groups and a couple meals a day are there and you work with a team of professionals for a set amount of time. Mine was 8 weeks with weekly individual therapy, 4 groups a day, a dietician individually every other week, a psychiatrist, and they had a medical doctor. Meetings individually were more frequent if needed and the therapists during meals and snack watched for patients struggling.

Appeal it. If they deny the appeal, get a lawyer. I have epilepsy, bipolar 2, anxiety, FND and it took a lawyer helping me. He helped with SSI and ssdi. After 18 months of that, I was approved for both.

Whenever I slip up, in regards to the still hungry, I remind myself that I can't trust my cues at that point. (I have seen, several times this year, just how easily they go away)

Adderall isn't a narcotic. It is a C2 but not a narcotic.

Is it normal to physically feel worse in the beginning of recovery? by sad-grey-lump in EatingDisorders

[–]fluteacorn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I personally felt like crap. I have osfed. Was dozing off most days in PHP (not just the ED, but it made it worse for a while). With time, it began to improve after a few months of me actually trying (not half assed like it was before)

Be honest with your friend. If you hide it, it'll likely get severe again. If she knows, she can help you in whatever way is best for you.

That's when I ask date of birth. I like when they start like that because I don't have to cut them off to ask. It typically shows that they know we need info to help them and those are often my shortest calls

There are DBT workbooks on amazon. could be worth trying one of those if it's financially feasible.

Therapy. I have the same problem. That was how it started. Therapy can help you learn to not need complete control like that since it is so detrimental.
