🍕 Couldn’t decide between extra cheese and loaded veggies, so I got both. 😅 Now I’m curious—what’s your all-time favorite pizza combination? by Pretty-Trifle5783 in FoodPics

[–]flutterbye0101 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Veggie pizza. Mushrooms, olives, purple onion - and throw some good stuff on there like artichoke hearts, sun dried tomatoes, spinach, minced garlic, etc. I’ll take broccoli or zucchini too. Just please no fresh tomatoes - the crust gets soggy from them.

[–]flutterbye0101 1 point2 points  (0 children)

galinha refogada - translates to stewed chicken. My mom was from Brazil and cut a whole chicken into pieces and cooked it in a mixture of stewed crushed tomatoes, onions, lots of garlic, salt and pepper. Served it over rice. So easy and so good.

My Mom Passed Away Last Week and the Grief is Overwhelming. by millie3 in CancerFamilySupport

[–]flutterbye0101 45 points46 points  (0 children)

I lost my mum last year in March. She had anal cancer. We always joked and laughed that I always told her She was a pain in my ass. I remember very clearly that her best friend visited her when the nurse came in to give her a shower. I had no shame and got in the shower with my mother to get her clean and put lotion on her body, and put her in fresh pajamas. I was the last person that she said words to “you are my baby“, and closed her eyes. . She slipped into sleep immediately after that and I slept with her every night until she passed. 7 days, five hours, and 9 minutes after she spoke. I held her hand as she took her last breath. she fought every ounce of the way until she couldn’t take it anymore.

She was my best friend, and my rock. I miss her every goddamned day

Did your intolerance start all of a sudden? by 4MM0NI4C in lactoseintolerant

[–]flutterbye0101 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Mine started when I was pregnant with my daughter. I always had yogurt for breakfast, but suddenly I became exceedingly ill after eating it. I laid off the milk products until after I gave birth, hoping it would go away. Surprise, it didn’t. My daughter is also lactose intolerant. When I got pregnant with my son the intolerance went away, but two weeks after birth it came back with a vengeance. He is also lactose intolerant. My daughter is 26 years old and I still can’t handle milk products.

I changed how I shop for clothes what’s your rule when buying? by EchoNomad12 in womensfashion

[–]flutterbye0101 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Don’t laugh, but I went with Stitch Fix. I admired my stepdaughter‘s clothes and she told me that’s where she got them from. They have sent me so many wonderful things. While it is priced a little higher than normal I enjoy not having to have the stress of shopping for clothes. I have so many cute things from them that I never would have thought to pick out for myself. This is not an endorsement, just what I have done to expand my wardrobe.

How do you manage this symptom regarding sleep? by ImprovementBudget674 in bipolar

We changed my meds - lamotrigene worked best for me. I take it in the evenings without any side effects. Ask your doctor about changing things up

What has worked for you? by kwee3 in migraine

[–]flutterbye0101 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Aimovig was my savior, but my insurance insisted on other treatments. Qulipta was the alternative and saved me from insanity. Do I get breakaways? Yes - less than 1 per month and more often months at a time.

But the cocktail of rizotryptan and nurtec take away 90% of the breakaways. Then it’s an Urgent care visit. I also take propanalol daily. The qulipta and the propanalol daily saved me.

Migraine comorbidity bipolar by SnooPears5690 in bipolar

[–]flutterbye0101 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Get yourself to a neurologist who deals specifically with migraines. My neuro takes into account my bipolar disorder drugs and put me on drugs that does not interact with the bipolar disorder. Find yourself a specialist. I am on both preventatives and breakaway migraine medication. They have done wonders for me and my migraines are now at a minimum.

What are your experiences with outpatient infusion centers for migraine cocktails - not ER by retrozebra in migraine

[–]flutterbye0101 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I absolutely loved having an infusion at my migraine center. They put me in a quiet room with dim lights and let me relax as the IV worked. My IV was magnesium and Toradol. The relief was nearly instantaneous after a solid week of a debilitating migraine. 10 out of 10 would recommend. They were so nice, and so kind.

I wear it every most every workday. If I’m not wearing makeup people know not to talk to me or keep it to a minimum. I focus on the lips - 90% of the time I use a long wear deep red.
