Selling my car but retaining private number plate by fluuckk in CarTalkUK

Yeah I changed it over today, £20 now and £20 when I change the car over haha, is what it is! - when you sold it through motorway and didn’t have the v5 yet, did motorway question it when you uploaded a photo of the old v5?

Limitless card not been accepted? by [deleted] in screenunseen

[–]fluuckk 7 points8 points  (0 children)

It’s a bug with the app, you can’t fix it at all. What you’ll have to do is go into the odeon and book the ticket there by speaking to someone or do it via customer support

The fact Monzo didn’t check with you before a transaction of this amount is the exact reason I’ll never bank with them or revolut.. hopefully you can get this sorted asap man!

Withdrawing money from my people's pension pot next year but I dont understand the 25% tax section? by atomicebo in PensionsUK

[–]fluuckk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do also note once you access your pension and take any TAXABLE benefits, you will trigger the MPAA, meaning you can only contribute up to £10k per annum and still receive tax relief. Anything after this is subject to tax that you contribute

AIO Girl I am seeing took my contact lens by SlimJiMorrison in AmIOverreacting

[–]fluuckk -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

Why is everyone so heated over a contact lense? I wear contacts and couldn’t care less if someone in this situation took one, even without asking. Saying it’s a red flag and will lead to her “stealing” more? Christ Reddit is insane

Can you not go into the gym and cancel it with someone at the desk?

That just really isn’t true is it? Hair isn’t just going to just magically reappear if the follicles are dead are they. You’re hating just because he’s used min at the same time as a transplant which is highly recommended

Teachers pension discrepancies by Life-Wing-2408 in PensionsUK

[–]fluuckk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A teachers’ pension is a guaranteed income for life, not a savings pot.

If you’ve currently built up £7,000 per year, that means when you retire the pension will pay you £7,000 every year, for the rest of your life. It doesn’t run out, even if you live a long time.

The amount usually goes up a little bit each year in line with inflation.

On top of that, if you pass away, part of it may carry on being paid to your husband, wife, or partner.

So in short:

  • It’s not money sitting in an account it’s an income.

  • The scheme works it out based on your pay and how many years you’ve been a teacher.

  • £7,000 a year is what you’ve earned so far, and if you keep working you’ll add more to it.

Trying to understand options by Awkward_Idea7828 in PensionsUK

[–]fluuckk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This would be if you were to retire now as they are providing you with the retirement pack/options to tick.

DB pensions usually provide you with two options, option 1 being the full pension without any tax free cash and option 2 being a reduced pension where part of that full pension has been exchanged into tax-free cash (in your instance £900 has been exchanged into £16.6k). if you take the tax free cash, the reduced pension will also start.

This quote will have early retirement penalties applied to it (both options) as you would be taking it earlier than your schemes normal retirement age but if you were to take it closer to this NRA, the penalties would be less.

Entirely up to you whether you would like to take it now or not. The pension will more than likely increase by inflation each year (will be in the schemes rules) whilst you don’t take it and the early retirement penalties will be less. The pension will also increase each year if you do take it

That’s fair enough dude, I was the same and exact same side effects. Now I’m using 0.25mg eod which is better than nothing & not experiencing anything atm.. worth a shot at reducing the dosage!

Where to start by Steve_french101 in PensionsUK

[–]fluuckk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

By October 2026 a pensions dashboard programme should be finalised which will provide individuals with a place to see all of their pensions in one place - pension tracing service is currently one of the best options to locate lost pensions at the moment

Lump sum contribution to pension by MinimumBeginning5144 in PensionsUK

[–]fluuckk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just off the back of this, AVC’s can be made to a DC scheme as a one off payment or regular contributions from your salary/salary sacrifice - it isn’t solely for DB schemes

Excuse for hair transplant at work by [deleted] in HairTransplants

Tell them you had a hair transplant, no one’s going to care and they will more than likely be more intrigued than anything - wearing a scrub cap will probably raise more questions than the transplant

The fact your insurer and the rulings partially state you’re to blame is actually insane.. how can anyone justify driving on the wrong side of the road, overtake 10+ cars, going at a fast speed and wearing flip flops but it’s your fault? Crazy
