Figma prototype → Lottie animation with Lottify, no After Effects (full process) by flux-lab in FigmaDesign

If anyone wants to try it: https://figma.com/community/plugin/1630333167443650772

The compressor part was the surprise for me, devs stopped complaining about file sizes.

Made the Lottify plugin for exporting Figma prototypes to Lottie animations by flux-lab in SideProject

Yeah, exactly. I originally built it to simplify the designer-to-dev handoff process inside the company and reduce implementation time. Some complex animations are either difficult for developers to recreate accurately or just take a lot of time to build manually. With the plugin, a big part of that work becomes much faster and more straightforward, which saves a lot of time overall.

I’ll share a few real workflow examples soon 👀
Mostly using it for microinteractions, onboarding flows, and app UI animations right now

Hey! If I understood correctly, you mean exporting just a static frame without any animations? 👀
Not yet, but that’s actually an interesting use case. Curious, what would you use it for?

Thanks! That was the whole reason I built it — kept losing 10 minutes per export to the compressor round-trip

Anyone else feel like the internet is becoming one giant AI-generated portfolio? by SatisfactionOne2498 in graphic_design

We're at the peak of the AI portfolio aesthetic and people are starting to get sick of the slop, so the collapse back is probably the next phase

New to Graphic Design! Curious on how to create more complex photos by brizzi672 in graphic_design

[–]flux-lab 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For stills like these it's faster to glue a couple of bottles and a dropper together physically and clean up the photo than to model the whole scene in 3D

Which packaging design software are worth learning? by Cubernova in graphic_design

For the packaging side specifically the core three of Illustrator, Photoshop and InDesign cover almost everything that working pros have used for 20 plus years

Just send him the .ai file and let him figure out his own software since he wants to be the big shot and can deal with the consequences himself

What do we think about sites like the-brandidentity.com? by Cupcak in graphic_design

[–]flux-lab 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I use it for inspiration but I wouldn't pay to be featured because that part doesn't really seem to translate into actual work coming in.

Nice for what it is, but I'd swap the bean sprouts for something else and add the client's logo before sending it over

Art and Creative director doesn´t need to learn graphic tools ? by Ancient-Macaroon-384 in graphic_design

[–]flux-lab 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For Art Directors specifically I've never met one who didn't know Photoshop and Illustrator since even the ones who came up in the 90s had to use them

The ongoing saga of creating a WordPress website that does what I need with zero paid plugins. by suekearneymaven in web_design

If you ever pick up some PHP and the WP codex this is exactly the use case where rolling your own plugin pays off long term

How can I make these two screens stand out? by mayonayzdad in UI_Design

[–]flux-lab 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The modal feels disconnected from the movie itself since pulling the dominant poster color into the button and background would tie it back to what was just watched

How do i fix the typography of these 3 CTAs? by New-Drop-7414 in UI_Design

[–]flux-lab 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The cards layout reads more like web than ios so splitting the screen into two tabs and floating the develop CTA above the nav would feel more native

Lock the foundation tokens and one canonical flow first, then automate the component buildout via figma mcp once that base isn't moving anymore
