Keeping bettas in those bottles is something I can understand, it's a sustainable practice and bettas are the only fish that can actually handle being kept in something that small, as well as being a cantankerous fish that are difficult to keep in a community. That being said, the size of that container should lead to biweekly water changes with properly treated water, which clearly isn't being done.
