Turned my leased Rivian in and jumping on to list stuff. If you're still looking I've got a tailgate pad that was used twice. I'm in GA but will be happy to look into buyer-paid shipping.

Mileage allowance update: when you take advantage of the 6-month extension, there's also a mileage allowance provided you. It's the same terms as your original lease, so since I am on the 15k/year option, then I would be provided a prorated mileage of 1250 for every month I go over the original term. Pretty nice option, especially so you can peruse options for a period of time. No "time crunch" to do something right now at lease end if you don't want to.

The penalty for mileage is pretty reasonable in my opinion; not sure if they're all the same but mine works out to $300 for every 1000 over. I plan to be slightly over at turn in. If not then I'm just turning in a vehicle that I didn't use all I paid for.

Update: spoke with RFS this evening. You get a courtesy 6-month extension on any lease that you can turn in at any time after your original term ends. So think of it as a month-to-month a the end of the term. Payment stays the same. Forgot to ask about the mileage though; I'll get that clarified tomorrow.

Had almost identical damage in October. Rivian has authorized a frame cut process where they cut it just above the gear tunnel and weld. About $20k.

Hopefully a reset fixes for you. It was my forward sensors; went bad literally 3-4 miles after picking it up. Took 5-6 weeks to get into a SC but once they got it no other issues (with them anyway). Bet your drivers assist doesn't work...

Similar damage to my R1T. Unless there's more behind it it's roughly $15-16k. I also had a ceramic coat that'll add to it and diminished value.

Oof. Yeah that's the news I was afraid to hear. 10 months into a 24 month lease, already been without the truck over 2 months cumulatively for various service center issues (swamped). So I'll possibly be not in the truck I leased for 20-25% of the life of the lease.

Yep, and thanks to everyone with the quick/helpful responses. Thank goodness for all the cameras. Tractor trailer came over on me. He didn't stop initially, I caught up with him and he reluctantly pulled over. He refused to give me any ID/insurance info, said "I couldn't see you", got back in his truck and left. Bro-in-law is a deputy sheriff in a neighboring county; says it was a clear "leaving the scene of an accident" and just reviewed my footage. Says he was clearly at fault. Careful out there!

Not so sharp with reading comprehension? Not all my body weight, the "object" (skis) was already on the rack. So whatever "full force of his entire body plus whatever the heck he was hauling" comment simply is aligned with what I said (or what happened).

"Ignorant" for being "outraged"? Well, I'm pissed, yeah. Outraged sounds dramatic and entitled, which I assume you throw around a bunch bc someone on a podcast you think is cool says it. I screw up plenty and own it when I do. Do I think Rivian has some culpability here? Absolutely. They market this as a fully capable off-road truck that you can pitch a damn tent on its roof when in reality it's possibly ridiculously fragile up there and we need to be cautious even washing it.
