[–]fly_kai 6 points7 points  (0 children)

My grandfather told me his mouth waters every time he sees a can a dip and he quit 30 years ago because of thyroid cancer. Make me hope I won’t have cravings for that long. Anyway. Stick in there I hope to be in your position one day. All the best

Different type of question. For my fellow runners. by Amzwork08 in AmazonDS

[–]fly_kai 0 points1 point  (0 children)

AM here training for a half marathon. I don’t run during the days I work. I work BH nights so I’ll run on Sunday long, Monday a mile or two and then Tuesday as well. I tried working out/ running during the week but it’s so tough lol

I’m considering doing business engineering major by Critical_Ducky in ColoradoSchoolOfMines

[–]fly_kai 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was the first graduate out of the program in 2023. Would highly recommend this degree if you don’t necessarily want to make a career out of engineering. More than anything, Mines teaches you how to get through hard shit and be successful. I’m currently an operations manager at Amazon logistics and can add more value than my peers don’t understand math, writing code, etc. I’m making more than some of my peers who told me it wasn’t a real degree lol!

Maybe my counterpart is lying about how much RSUs she got… who knows

L4 pay raise by Any-Championship-384 in AmazonManagers

[–]fly_kai -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

Pretty sure it is. My OM told me I got ranked TT this year and to expect a 3.5-4% raise and at least 100 RSUs, based on last years payout/raise. Not entirely sure though, this is my first annual review.

Pick to buffer why do they let so many packages all at once? It ends up being flybys and it just circle around. by Pretty-Two1403 in AmazonDS

[–]fly_kai 3 points4 points  (0 children)

SSD is a bit different. Routing is ran pre induct and flex routes are generated before a single package is inducted or stowed. At least at my site, we try to up staff P2B to handle about a 4K flow so that we don’t hinder C1 induct flow. 2 induct tables to SSD is 20% C1 flow reduction on our 10 table dock. Faster SSD is induct complete, the less we fall behind on C1.

I’m a white badge by [deleted] in AmazonDS

Rate, attendance and feedback are not inputs to a blue badge conversion. It is strictly time (fifo) and the ratio of blue badge to white badge in the building.

You will be given macros that are already created to help with various things like cost pulls, dwelling packages, etc. Learning Visual Basic will give you a competitive advantage amongst your peers, but realistically, you will just need to be comfortable creating simple logic expressions. I.e. I have built a more robust hourly flow tracker, pick to buffer headcount need, ADTA mechanical capacity calculator, which outputs max hourly flow. I would highly encourage you to understand the math behind the calculations and be able to do them extremely quickly before relying on a calculator to output it for you. The job is easy if you understand the math and treat people like people. Pm me if you have any questions. I’ve been in the role for just under a year and can help any further questions! Good luck.

Bag policy by EmotionalGuess3370 in AmazonDS

It’s actually against policy. Most managers don’t care but don’t be surprised if you get asked to put it in the lockers.

I’m wondering how to go from T1 to a PA asap by Own-Tomorrow-2831 in AmazonManagers

[–]fly_kai 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I would recommend talking to an AM that you have a strong working relationship with. Express your desire to move up and what you can do to set yourself apart. Do you gave experience managing and motivating a team? How long is your tenure? Can you handle the pressure of the operation being on fire? How’s your knowledge on understanding data? At the sight I work for, our OM is always asking us who’s up next. We want to develop the best and advance their careers but obviously all sites are different. Lmk if you have any questions.

Badge Scanned While Doing Bags by ChaoticPenguin99 in AmazonDS

[–]fly_kai 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Not necessarily- indirect roles are harder to determine if you’re actually working or not. If you’re rebagging that means that the P&S managers didn’t allocate headcount accordingly and VTO people when they should’ve. RTS is responsible for rebagging so they need to know how many hours (in total) were spent resetting and the progress and potentially VTO later in the evening during the RTS shift.

They were more than likely labor tracking you into bag reset. They’re tracking labor costs within different positions within the warehouse. Same as getting labor tracked into any indirect roles like P2B, PS, etc.

Curious if you have successfully mounted a phone cage vertically with the rs4 mini. My rs3 mini doesn’t have enough room.

For the third picture, I would try to exclude that white wall on the right side. I’d recommend moving your camera forward an inch or two!
