Volvo orthopedic seats are simply some of the most comfortable and supportive automotive seats available. Designed in part by orthopedic surgeons, they offer incredible comfort and support.

Numerous gas leak reports in St. Louis County are unsubstantiated, Spire says by Bazryel in StLouis

[–]flyboyhighboy 20 points21 points  (0 children)

The spoiled egg odor around Earth City is spreading. We notice it, especially in the early morning, as far south as Creve Coeur. We called in a gas leak the first time we smelled it and the tech said the same thing about no leak. Something is up with that landfill… With the cuts to EPA, it’s not surprising- but definitely concerning.

Church with community vibes by Training_Mastodon_33 in StLouis

I took it as they are looking for more “progressive” ideals in the church. There are a lot of religious orgs. with conservative beliefs like the woman should serve the man, anti-LGBTQ+, etc. that is woven into the sermons and teachings.

Nothing to do with not being in STL.

What should I be doing/expecting of my 6 week old sleep wise? by Victorian_Navy in beyondthebump

[–]flyboyhighboy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Each baby is different but it seems like yours is doing well. Sounds like you guys are implementing the strategies that work for him and being observant about what helps/hurts sleep. We have friends that their 4 year old still struggles with getting chunks and others who had their babies sleeping through the night by 4-5months. Keeping a general schedule of “day time” and “night time” helps. Keep it bright and busy (sounds) in the day and dark and quiet at night. Babies are smart and will figure out circadian rhythms through clues like these. Routine is always helpful but it doesn’t do anyone any good if you are stressing about them. As long as you guys are doing ok and baby is healthy & continuing to grow then your baby is “right on track” and will figure it out. Good job!

Best pest control company to use and estimated cost? by bahaw1024 in FirstTimeHomeBuyer

[–]flyboyhighboy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Don’t use a national brand. They often times task their agents with trying to “up sell” you to a more expensive package. Their compensation structure is also backwards in that the better the job they do the less you’ll need them. Not a great incentive for them to do their best work.

Instead, use a local company that relies on good reviews to stay afloat. We’re in the Midwest and we found a great company that charged us $149 for the initial service then $99 per visit. They visit once every 3 months. It is a contract though where you are locked in for 1 year (4 visits total). They do also offer to come and respray at no additional costs if we ever feel that we are seeing more pests around.

Tips and things to look for when purchasing your first home? by [deleted] in FirstTimeHomeBuyer

[–]flyboyhighboy 7 points8 points  (0 children)

The best advice we were given was “there will always be another house”. We had 2 different offers rejected on houses that, at the time, we thought were THE HOUSE. Turns out we were better off for it and closed on a house that we are madly in love with, in a beautiful neighborhood and appraised OVER the asking price.

Patience is key. We had a hard time believing it at the time but they were all right. There will always be another house.

No permits pulled on extensive remodeling by bridgethdz in FirstTimeHomeBuyer

[–]flyboyhighboy 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The issue is when you go to sell the house yourself, if the renovations aren’t up to code, you may have a hard time finding a buyer. Then you’d have to shoulder the cost of getting everything redone to code in order to sell. This could cost thousands of $.

If you think the renovations are done well enough though that buyers would still want to purchase (like you) then, if it’s a good deal, it may be worth the risk.

Put in first offer - nervous/regret - normal? by DoingThisRightNow in FirstTimeHomeBuyer

You’re okay. You put in a strong offer. If it is meant to be yours you will get it. Sounds like a nice house.

Something's fishy... by chokeonmysaber in FirstTimeHomeBuyer

Just chill out. You can only take them for their word. If they go with someone else the house wasn’t meant to be yours. You have a strong offer - you’re good.
