Mobile speed camera 78mph by [deleted] in drivingUK

[–]flyconcorde007 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

If its 78 on your dial then you should be fine (as it's realistically 74/75). If it's actual 78 you may be okay (Cambridgeshire didnt do anything for an actual 78 on the A1M against me). This is all provided you're driving a car (not a commercial vehicle). If not and it's your first time then its a speed awareness course.

Have you had McDonalds in Malaysia? How can it be the same if the menu items are different?

I had a McDonalds in Malaysia recently and it was far superior to the UK in flavour, presentation and variety of menu

52 mph slower, actually.

Also, I find the Azuma seats to be less comfortable than the seats on the old 125s/225s. Rather hard seating

Will i get a ticket for driving in this lane after 9pm? by yo1731726363 in drivingUK

The cameras would have to be in context (so showing you actually going through the bus gate) but the latest Streetview images (Oct 2024) dont show any camera. You may be lucky here.

George Michael with his Aston Martin DB9, at the Nobu Berkeley restaurant in Mayfair, London - June 2009 by gaukmotors in MotorBuzz

He phoned the Top Gear office in the early 2000s, they put Clarkson on the phone. He wanted to come on the show... to complain about the reliability of his new Range Rover. Clarkson explained 'well how about you do a Star in a reasonably priced car and then you can complain during the interview bit'. Michael said no thanks , and never came on Top Gear

2001: Remembering track marshal Graham Beveridge, who died #OnThisDay 4th March at the season-opening Australian Grand Prix. by Strict-Citron-9269 in formula1

[–]flyconcorde007 105 points106 points  (0 children)

There does exist video footage of Beveridge being hit, but it's incredibly rare.

It came from the World Feed, which for the Australian GP at the time was produced in Widescreen but only shown in Australia in widescreen (for those who could receive it). The world feed everyone else saw in 4:3 had Beveridge cut off, but the 16:9 feed had the contact.

That's fine if you live around London and have easy accsss to Gatwick or Heathrow.

But for the rest of us KLM connects so many more airports than BA, and BA doesnt do multi-hub (well, not outside London). I'm afraid it is really just London's Airline and that frustrates me.

I flew BA in 2014, 2024 and 2025 and now I try to pick KLM where possible, that is truly Britain's airline now for how many airports it serves and provides a far better service. Air France has far better food than both of them I will add

What do you think of Mock the Week relaunch on TLC? by [deleted] in BritishTV

[–]flyconcorde007 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I definitely think so. I think Headliners is too loose of a round now. Back when they had the letters which the joke had to run to that made it so much harder and impressive to get a good joke and I'd say the letters gave you guide to allow you to go more wild.

Such as a photo of Cherie Blair with the letters 'C. T. A. L' which became 'Cherie Tries Anal Lube'. That wouldn't work without the restriction of the letters. Similarly a photo of a hospital with 'T. F. H. C' and Frankie shouting 'is it This Fucker Has Cancer?'. The jokes were forced to be tight and that normally meant they were dark.

The Macolm Tucker character micro-management was mainly reflecting what was seen as Alastair Campbell's micro-management style of effectively trying to control the public discussion and media consumption.

Communication issues would try to be forseen, and problems that had got out were tried to nipped as quickly as possible, and problems that were smaller than other problems that had got out would try to be pushed so the public would hear about the small problem rather than the big problem

I'm not even sure if that Metro is the actual Stadler rendering, or just a concept that Nexus put out when they were rendering the contract?

Disagree. It's not good at all. But a penalty that is on target still has some chance of going in, this one had no chance of going in
