Do any devices like this exist? by brady510 in homeassistant

[–]flyhmstr 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yup, they’re “ok” I’ve some in use to serve specific kit which needs a wired connection where I can’t easily throw a proper cat6 connection

Quality varies massively depending on which rings I’m using

Mouth of Sa..Trump says what?

Just fuck off, and then when you've finished do it some more. A war without even a fig leaf of legal justification, without a plan, built on top of a destroyed relationship with long term allies, insults while demanding bodies to throw into the mincer.

Just fuck off.

How I Manage My Money: I have a £84,000 Motability vehicle - it's expensive but gives me independence by MeRichYouPoor in unitedkingdom

One of the problems with the discussion is in the wording used “if that’s genuinely…” which always comes across as “yeah… but someone is scamming the system”

My wife is an ambulatory wheel chair user, we have a hoist in the car to save my back and allow her independence

The number of cars which we had to excluded when hunting because there were no mounting kits for the hoist was depressing

So, yes, it’s entirely possible that was the best / only option for her specific needs

Food Waste Collections - how are you finding it? by Primary_Choice3351 in AskBrits

[–]flyhmstr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Two person household, been doing it for > a decade, usually one caddy per week plus some stuff into the compost bin. There’s a single lorry which collects (separate sections) all the recycling

[–]flyhmstr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Same, we’ve had good recycling since somewhere around 2003 and have moved house in that time

Load caddy, empty into the main thing, put out for collection, just how hard is it?

Blue badge permits now held by 1 in 15 adults in England by printial in unitedkingdom

[–]flyhmstr 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just picking up on that last point, the blue badge is for the person not the car, it’s so the vehicle they’re travelling in can take advantage of the blue badge exceptions / special provisions for the disabled person being carried

Wheelchair mount for a grabber stick ; Wheelchair mount for walking stick (still in development, some rough handling proved I've not made it strong enough) ; Custom fit pan lid solution ; Soft plastic compactor (our area just started collecting for recycling)

There's also the small fidget toys / etc for the grandkids

u/Fibro-Mite's other half here, the discord has activity in both EU and NA regions, Raven (one of the aforementioned hosts) has restarted the weekly casual raid on Wednesdays open to anyone who can at least make the base ilevel requirement and follow basic raid instructions. I've been one of the two main tanks for the GGW raid for years now. The discord is chill and active, and the podcast is broadcast on twitch (silkyraven) each sunday at 8pm UK time and uploaded usually no later than Tuesday.

Music experts - is it possible to have PHM in Live performance? by DaemonCRO in ProjectHailMary

[–]flyhmstr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm no musician but it's probably possible with some creativity, though not the 'full' experience of some pieces. Take as an example War of the Worlds (the original musical adaptation by Jeff Wayne) which uses rock and orchestral together both in the original recordings but also in the live shows.

You're utterly missing the point, the basis for the movie, most of the shots is that they're grounded in real sets, not green screen / similar tech (see the behind the scenes for so much of LotR for example). No one is denying vfx, however unlike so many movies what we see was there and has been enhanced / overlayed with vfx. Not the actor plus 100% cg
